Auto Transmission Damaged?

Hey guys I know it's kinda dumb, but today when I wanna do the upshift in SS mode as usual, I didn't realize it's actually in gear D, so it went into gear N at around 25 mph for around 5 seconds.

I got it back to SS as soon as I found out, so is there any chance the transmission got any kind of damage? Thanks for your input!

Um... are you serious?
You could be on the highway at 80mph and then shift into N and then shift back to D and it would do 0 damage.

NO worries. your transmission is fine. Transmission is almost foolproof. It won't let you shift to reverse when you're driving forward in D position. That's why you have to depress the brakes in order to shift from Park to reverse and Drive.

Well, I did the same thing once under hard acceleration. Thought I was in SS, but wasn't. When I reached the shift point with my foot to the floor, I slammed the shifter forward and RINGDINGDINGDINGDING I was in neutral instead of 2. I've always hated the fact that upshift is FORWARD instead of BACKWARD.

Your tranny is toast. Did you go back and pick up all the pieces that fell off it?

no harm done.

1. Pick up video camera

2. Take car to dealer; ask same question while video taping

3. Post up video

Yeah. My bad. Welcome to the forum man

Just having some fun with the thread. Not trying to put you down or anything. I think you should be fine though. If that happens again make sure not to be on the throttle when you shift back into drive.
