It changes only when you have the headlights on automatically.
Because technically, when you have your headlamps on, it's night therefore the navi screen changes it's looks to better fit night driving purposes.

Now if you have the headlamps on along with the auto button, I'm shit out of ideas.

G'luck mate.

hey may have manually changed the setting while his lights were on, and both settings are the same now.

if they're both set to the same point, then nothing "changes" even though the lights are on.

the headlight is one of the reason, but u can not turn your dashboard light to the brightest.

1. turn on headlight.
2. make sure on the navi screen the mode is "AUTO"
3. there 2 little pins on yr front dashboard, turn the right one until the navi screen change the color

Ah, yes I forgot about the dashboard pin, you need to not have that at the brightest setting.

Eh, I learn something new every day on this board. Only thing, is I keep my headlight switch on all the time. I like how when you approach the car at night and unlock the car, the headlights flip on and illuminate the area a bit. Now I just need to start remembering to turn off my friend's headlights when I borrow their cars

Check out your owners manual. You can change the time your Headlights stay on in your M.I.D.

Yep, cool thing about leaving them on is it illuminates the area while you're walking away from your car and as you approach (when you hit the unlock button). You see, as I was saying, you learn something new every day on this board.

Thanks, I could not figure out why my Navi screen was not changing for the life of me. My car was shipped to me with the brightness setting at the max and I could not find any information in the user manual.
