ATTN anyone who has painted the engine cover

Attn: anyone that has ever painted their engine cover.
What paint did you use? The heat resistent krylon stuff? of regular paint?
Also, how long have you had it painted, and how is it holding up?
Im asking becasue my friend is a painter, and i want him to paint it NHBP like the car, but its regular paint. will it flake, or chip off?

I would recommend using some sort high heat enamel as a clear coat to reduce the risk of flaking and chipping due to heat. Make sure you lightly layer the coats and spray from a distance.

i used metalcast paint and it held up pretty well even in NY weather

Ignition & IM Cover can be painted w/ High-Heat resistant spray, after you sand it down. The Valve Cover should do it professionally; powdercoat instead of spray paint it...
