APP Sensor issues ( TSX 2004)
Background: My Acura TSX 2004 model is now almost 300,000!Quick Question..
I suddenly got a lot of loss performance.
Then out of nowhere, heard a "clack" when changing from gear 1 to 2 (automatic).
Then got the check engine and the VSA. And the RPM meter varied a lot. Specially in the 50kmph to 70kmph range.
The next time I turned on the car, the VSA disappeared but the check engine still remained.
Cue next day going to the mechanic..
No check engine, no VSA. Behaving normally, day a bit colder than before.
Upon checking the engine codes at the mechanic's. It returned a log about the APP sensor.
Essentially, same as this: https://www.tsxclub.com/threads/app-sensor.169186/
Very similar error diagnostic code of "P2138 APP Sensor A/B or 1/2 TPS D/E - Incorrect Volate Correlation - Code P2138 indicates that with the ignition on the PCM detected the difference between the throttle/pedal position sensor/switch D signation and the throttle/pedal position sensor/switch E signal was greater than the maximum allowable value" but with some different wording. But the Code P2138.
Now, the mechanic recommended getting ACURA branded.
Problem is? I'm flack broke right now ( Just bought a new phone to replace a failing one).
Can I use one of these temporarily until I can save for the ACURA branded?
The piece in question:
or this one? To Clarify, the ACURA branded one seems to cost above 450 CAD where I live plus labour.
Also could this be knocking? as I drive like a grandmah but Im using cheap 87 gas. And this behavior started as the days became hotter and hotter. Not much issue in the morning but prevalent by noon.
