Strange question, but has anyone done it looking for a luxury cruiser? I'm looking at a 1999. I like my TSX, but the road noise is starting to get to me since most of my driving is on the highway. I also like the space of the LS, especially in the back seat.

On top of all that, I could probably pay it off in a year or 18mos and I owe about 3 1/2 on my 08. It might free up some cash later on down the road if it doesn't give me any problems. They seem to get about 18/26 which is about 6mpg less than the TSX.

The car is clean, navi, and is one solid feeling car.

Any thoughts?

Trading an '08 for a car that's a decade old already? Umm, no don't do that.
If you want less road noise, get some dynamat and put it all over the car. Or get better tires, they can make a huge difference.

I do probably 95% highway driving and think the tires make a big difference. I now have Yokohama Avid V-s which IMO create alot of road noise. My tsx has 88,000 miles. Have no desire to own a lexus. My sister-in-law and her husband own them-prefer my tsx.

As others have said, different tires make a HUGE difference. Day and night.

Thanks for your thoughts. We currently own just the TSX but have the desire to an older truck for hauling stuff and driving on some dirt roads while traveling. We will end up getting a used pickup of some sort and see how the finances are. If we see that we need to free up some cash, I'll look at an older RL.
It also helps that my wife loves driving the TSX and hates the way the LS looks. She really likes the 1G RL and 2G RL and her new favorite is the 3G RL. She saw one this weekend and said she wants one, well I told her to keep dreaming. Maybe when the TSX is paid off we'll get a CPO used 09+.

I must say, right now my favorite Acura is the RL followed by the MDX.

the new TL's are whisper quiet!!! and even the new tsx's are quieter then my 08 tsx.
