That sucks. I called around back on 12/5/04, found the exact car I was looking for and picked up my 05 that same day. I wanted red which was difficult to find and my dealer had to trade w/ another dealer about 150 miles away, but they were able to get the car there that same evening.

IMO, it's easier to find a car that with the color, options, etc. you want rather than to order one and wait.

I ordered one early in Dec. I was told March, maybe April. But they found one that a deal went south on and I have been driving mine for 2 weeks now. Actually getting the fogs and cargo net put in right now. I had to wait a month and that was hard. Good luck with the wait (I am not trying to rub it in, I feel your pain).

Ordered mine Dec 28th. Last I heard I should see it Mid Feb. I figure its better this way - I can put the winter wear and tear on my current car.

I'm still waiting too..hehe. I ordered a CG with Ebony interior on 1/13/05, and I'm not sure how long it will take. The dealer mentioned it typically takes 4 weeks but he will try to locate one sooner. They have a CG with quartz in stock, but I want the ebony =). I don't know how you guys managed to wait because the wait is killing me. I'm literally dreaming about the car everynight.

I put $1000 down.

I haven't worried too much about it but I consider it non-refundable except for certain conditions (like they can't deliver the car, or they claim my trade-in has gone to pot in the meantime and I disagree). These are set out in the contract.

I ordered mine in October, and was told end of February. However just last week I found it should be in by end if this month (January). Been waiting a long time. Getting SS/EB/Auto/Navi

I put $500 down, and it’s 100% refundable even after the car arrives. www.gunnauto.com is a good place.

I am hearing different things. Some dealers say that they must refund deposits which leads me to believe it is some sort of statewide law. I wonder if it is, in CA at least, or if it's just up to each dealer?

Screw that! I will be looking to pickup a TSX at the end of March and no way can I wait a few months for it to come in. I guess I'm going to have to search everywhere for the one I want.

Depends on how picky you are about what you want, and where you live. The dealer where I ordered mine had two SSM/5AT/Non-navis in stock ready to drive away (one quartz, one ebony). The other local dealer probably had a few in stock as well. But if you want a particular combo, you're more likely to have to wait. Anecdotally, it seams that 6MT and Navi each make it more likely that you'll have to wait. If, like me, you want both ... well, let's just say if I were you I'd order that car today and then you can meet your March time frame!

Well, maybe. I ordered my 6MT and Navi in early December and the estimated delivery date is early to middle May.

I put $500 down for my CGP - 6MT - Navi at Ron Tonkin at the end of December. I was told sometime in February. They said they would call when they had a VIN to give me but I haven't heard from them yet.

rutdogg - Why are they providing you with a VIN? Is this for loan, insurance, other? purposes?

I'm not really sure. They just said they would call us when they had one. Maybe they aren't going to give us the actual VIN number, but just inform us that the car has been produced.

In FL the deposit was refundable for any reason. At least at my dealership it was. I feel so lucky that I got my car 2 months early. People waiting, did you ask the dealer if they would trade with another dealer for your car?

The dealer is Park Ave Acura. They just got it in on Monday. I'm almost certain it has navigation. The salesman contacted me to let me know about it just in case I would change my mind. Does your dealer have a CG/Ebony with navi in stock? Maybe we can have them make a trade? That would be awesome. Take care.

Well, I don't want a MT so that will help in the search since it sounds like its nearly impossible to find one on a dealer lot. I'm going to be look for an Auto w/ Nav and in one the following colors: CG, NBP, PWP

Do you guys think that one could ask to have the dealership order the OEM kit, but work it into the sale of the car by telling them to install it for free when it comes in? That was one of the things that I was going to use in my negotiations.

I got a call yesterday saying they actually put the order in, when I made my deal/put down a deposit like 2 weeks ago. Does anyone know how the ordering system works...does a dealership order only once a month after they gather a bunch of orders or what? Why would they wait two weeks to put my order in?

I would love to know as well... The dealer still hasn't given me a definitive date as to when the car will be in. I am in limbo right now.

In Northern california, a 6MT with Navi is extremely rare. I just barely got mine last week (just delievered off a truck in a bay area dealership). I checked inventory of dealerships around and apparently there are only two on the ground in the entire northern california, one white and the other silver. I specifically wanted the Nighthawk Black Pearl Color and I was very fortunate to find one, there aren't any at all. The Automatics however are plentyful around Northern California, with and without Navigation, except the red color.

I love this car so far, the only two issues are my Homelink will not go into programming mode and I am going to have to call up homelink and do a couple of things over the phone with them. Trust me, I've tried everything from new battery, to a different remote, to cycling, to trying different angles. The second, is I get afraid of the "evil eye" and everyone's jealous to me for having a secondary car. I think that's what happened to my accord that got totalled after only 8months of driving it. Call me paranoid to this...yah I am,

By the way, hi to all!

Ordered SSM/Ebony, 6MT, non-navi in January for April delivery. Dealer says they have a short window each month to order TSXs, then the window closes until the next month. Since the plant is making much different models on this chassis, they allow orders to build up for a given market until there is sufficient demand to justify a changeover. Regarding dealer trades, you inevitably end up with miles on the car. I will not take delivery of a new car with more than 10 miles on it. The last thing in the world I want is some bozo joyriding in my new car during the break-in period. Also, dealer says Acura allows them to "air-trade" if available. This is when dealer A orders a vehicle then decides they don't want it. Dealer B can intercept the vehicle before it leaves US arrival port, then it is delivered just as if they ordered it originally. Much preferred over "dealer-trade".

Interesting thing... I'm still waiting for my car (6-sp MT TSX) and the dealer wanted me to come down yesterday to "order the license plates." They said that way the plates would be there when the car arrived. They were very insistent. Turns out what they really wanted was for me to sign all the paperwork to purchase the car. I told them I wasn't signing anything until the car was there.

Anyone else encountered something like that?

I put my order in early November and the build date on my car was 1/10/05. The dealer advised it would be 45 days after build date to arrive. His best estimate was 2/25/05. (CG 6spd Navi)
