Changing my impression!

In the 6 months I've owned the car I've put almost 3000 miles on it. In those same 6 months, I've put about 12,000 miles on my '98 Volvo turbo.

Since our two newest cars are both Honda products, those are the two I filled out the Consumer Reports questionaire for. And for the first time, ever, I had no boxes to check on the questionaire. No problems to report for either car.

So given a choice between the new Acura and a 6-year old Volvo with 140,000 miles, why do I naturally gravitate to the Volvo? Winter weather was probably a part of it. And the extra hp of the Volvo is noticeable. But my other thought is that the Honda design is a little too sterile, from the "plood" to the "pleather", it doesn't seem to show the imprint of the designers' soul. Like my lawnmower, I can depend on it to stop and start and perform admirably, but that's about it. There's little or no emotion here.

I think I'll keep my stock in Honda Motor Co. Ltd., but maybe look to BMW for my next car.

Some truth to this. Souls are a distinctly human characteristic and usually attributable to fallibility in some form or another or a collection of imperfections and features.

I'd have to say most Japanese (esp Honda) cars (and quite a few German) tend to lack a bit of soul. Volvos, Saabs, and Subarus tend to be idiosyncratic and under my definition perhaps are very soulful vehicles.

But then again the better and more perfect something is, the less soul it has!

Anyway, one month, 750 miles, no rattles. No problems. I'm diggin my TSX!

No regret at all!! IT's luxury, with good handling.

I only wish the turning circle is smaller, or else it's perfect for me!

I am picking mine up today

I wanted black, but I would have to wait a long time to get one so I chose white which may be even better looking now that I think about it. I test drove the 350Z and G35 Coupe and although impressive, as soon as I test drove the TSX, I was sold. Just enough power, all the comfort features that I've never had with my 96 Integra. I can't wait to get it. They better have my windows tinted.

I just bought a white TSX 6spd 3 weeks ago and the only thing I really regret is not waiting a little longer to try to get a better deal. I test drove the Mazda 3, Subaru WRX, Evo, Lexus IS300 and RSX and felt the media considerably overrated these cars. I considered the Infinity G35, but felt the TSX had a better transmission and interior and I couldn't justify paying an additional $6,000 for 60 xtra hp and rear wheel drive. I was very impressed with the Mazda RX-8 but there were some pratical considerations, the biggest being my wife was dead set against it. As far as performance is concerned, my only complaint is torque steer. Punch it in a turn and you have to fight the wheel. The Mazda RX-8 was much more balanced accelerating in corners.

I do not regret getting the white but have some regrets about not getting the navi. There have been a couple of instances when having a navi would have helped but I've still managed to find my way to wherever I was going. But, the "gee wiz" factor of the navi, along with the convenience is something that would be cool to have.

No regrets

I have almost 6000 miles on my TSX (MSM, 5A, no nav) and have had no problems, zero, ziltch, nada. I'm an anal SOB about my cars and this is the first time (others Acuras, Hondas Toyotas, and a BMW) that I've been able to say that. I suppose I could ask the dealer to look at the occassional rattle I get from the rear seatback release mechanism, but is is so unobtrusive, and something that I can fix myself wen it bugs me enough to do so, that I don't think it's worth a trip.

The closest thing I have to a regret is the once in a great while feeling I have that I would enjoy the 6MT. In 30+ years of driving this is my first automatic. 99% of the time I love it (I spend a lot of time in traffic) but once in a while I miss the control and response of a good shifter. Oh well... Gotta grow up sometime - NOT!

1 month here and loving it. got me a black/black non-navi 5at. i almost bought a mazda 6 for price reasons being that my uncle works for ford and i was going to get his employee discount so i was going to get the car for invoice price so the diff in price between tsx and 6 was huge. anyways when i went to do me financing the manager started to take away $2,500 worth of rebates and giving bad attitude and my % was 10+ nasty. i think they were mad that i had the discount and thought they was going to be able to scam me but they couldnt so they tried making $$$ in the back end what dicks so i got my shit and dipped. thank god for ACURA and their friendly people down in MIAMI ACURA ON US1 DOWN IN MIAMI FL. THIS GUY JAMES hooked me up and made sure everything was perfect and so it was and i drove the bitch home super happy. ACURA ROCKS!!! now i got name, hid's, and pure luxury. also guys and gals if you compare the tsx vs bmw in its class like 325, the bmw people got no chance. Bmw makes you pay for everything extra and the interior of it is not even that nice. just big NAME. now if you are going to compare tsx to 540 or e class cmon guys gemme a break lol. so to my conclusion everything else honda 4 ever

Got the car 3000 miles ago

I have come close to regreting not getting the TL for mostly the hands-free Blue-tooth phone system, but outside of that, I absolutely love this car and have previously owned a 2000 BMW M3 Roadster. Even though the M3 was really fast, this car is just as much fun, seriously. Anyone who purchased a TSX should be very proud of this car, it is a practical sports car and that is what i car about.

Gas

I got my TSX 1 week ago. It has 200 miles. I may be regretting it now that gas is so high it will soon cost $50 to fill the tank. I live in NYC and could have managed without a car. Perhaps we should abandon Iraq and march into Saudi Arabia where our good friends who we protected twice from Saddam Hussein marching right over their borders and taking over their oil fields (along with those of Kuwait), are now the first OPEC country to vote to decrease oil production and increase oil prices. M-F's!

Still cheaper than the bottled water in my cupholder!

If I didn't actually need a car to beat the **** out of with my commuting, (my company has been moving it's ops waaaaay out of Manhattan) I'd keep one car, a Porsche 911.

I have been checking this thread for months, even before I bought my TSX. Being a loyal fan to this forum, I feel sorry for not posting on this thread.

Do I regret about getting my TSX? Although sometimes got irritated by on-and-off rattles and regret not having PPW+ebony in US, I can honestly tell you that -- I don't regret at all.

Sure it's not as powerful as G35, not as luxurious as TL, not pimpy as 330i, not as cheap as Mazda 6, or not as what-so-ever as whatever car is. So what? I made my best purchase based on my best judgement with my best budget.

I don't understand why some people keep whining about their cars. If you are not happy about your purchase, sell it. You have internet to do research, dealers to get test drive, friends to ask, and moreover, time to think before you drive away the car with your name. Afterall, it's you picking TSX, not TSX picking you. If you fail to find a car that suits your need, well Blame whom?

There is always a better car out there. Among mid-size sedans, TSX shines in its niche. To me, my TSX is never as fast space rocket, not as responsive as my bike, not as spacious as local bus and not as cozy as my bed. But at least I know that, whenever I walk up my car, I would smile.

No regrets, but paint job could have been better and I kinda wished I was able to get one with Navi for $27,000 OTD. Ooohh...and the stereo system in the TL would have been nice too. Other than that, this car has got the most bang for my buck.

I had a new TL for almost a week and can honestly say that I really like the way the TSX stereo sounds better.

The XM Radio is cool, but overall sound quality / power tips in the TSX direction.

Having just celebrated 1 year of ownership(June 25th) I gotta say that there's nothing out there in the same price range/class that I'd rather be driving.

The transmission is sick. I was driving a couple of buds to a golf tourney and the guy in the back seat finally noticed me shifting gears and said "holy sh*t, I thought this was an auto"

This car has me smiling even amongst hordes of half-wit commuters.

I wouldn't have thunk it. I've yet to hear the TL stereo but the hype surrounding it led me to conclude it was, of course, better than the TSX's.

RUST spots on the trunk where it meets the weather strip. ('06 TSX PWP) big, rather HUGE piss off thus far.

However, I also had it on my '04 EL, so...maybe no Acura next time?

Nice revival.

I don't regret it two TSX's and nearly 4 years later.

It is time for another car though. Too bad I'm married.

It was a good revival.

I guess the ONLY thing that I've thought of is:
I'm 26, I'm single...could've gone for a "sportier" car (350z, Evo, STi etc...).

I DO love my decision though

Back from the dead! Just clicked three years on my TSX, and no regrets. I wish I had a truck too, but the car itself has been great.
