you mean the security deposit??
Why not just buy the car? The market value is usually higher than the buyout value at the end of lease (if no accident).

I got this information from the front desk of a dealer:

Lease for 48 months - $0 down - $517.09 + tax.
Lease for 48 months - $2000 down - $471.72 + tax.
Lease for 48 months - $5000 down - $402.92 + tax.

hi the zero down is like $5000-$6000 interest over 48 months.
$2000 to $3000 sounds more reasonable to me these days....
but you can always bargain =) esp this time of the year when 05 model coming soon.

The war was over and we settle on $2000 off on PWP TSX with $2000 down. The deal I can tell is just OKAY and the DCH said I had "Limited Credit History" WTF???

Anyway, picking up my TSX later today and hope I can join your meet in near future.

Just to make sure... If you are doing a lease, you should negotiate based on the monthly payment. Not how much off the price tag. Dealer always play tricks on that.
good luck bro. and gratz on the TSX

Yes, for example. $520 is the monthly payment w/o bargaining. Let's say they take off $3000 from the price tag and it is calculated to be $490 per month. But then they decided to tell you it is gonna be $500 per month.
You never know whether they cheated on you or not unless you know exactly how they come up with the numbers. (it is easy if you know the interest rate, but it takes time.) Therefore, just negotiate on the monthly payment and residual value.... because that's what you will be paying.
