Anyone come from a 01-05 Civic?

I currently own a Civic EX 02 Sedan and wanted to "upgrade" to the TSX. Anyone went that path that can tell me about their experience.

My initial reaction when I test drove the TSX was that there wasn't a speed difference as much as I thought there would have been.

I had an '03 Civic Si, and it was not as fast as my 6MT TSX. IMO, the TSX is maybe 1/2 second faster in the 1/4, but it feels more so to me.

In any event, neither of these cars are fast; don't buy a TSX f you're planning on any drag racing. The TSXs strengths are great handling, fair amount of luxury, reliability, and high level of standard equipment.

I think its funny that people consider 0-60 and 1/4 mile times in the purchase of a TSX or any car other than a Corvette, Viper, Cobra etc.

If your really worried about performance spend the TSX money on a used C5 or Z06.

I had a 2001 Civic EX with AEM short ram (which really did not make that much of a difference), and the difference between that car and my TSX is like night and day in terms of overall "speed." The torque curve is lower than I would like on the lower end stock, but I took care of that with a couple of bolt-ons.

Like Lanny is alluding to, what basis are you measuring "speed"? Initial pickup from a complete stop? From a rolling stop? At the higher speeds? And are you factoring some of the suppressive elements of the DBW throttle control?

My finace has an 04 civic 5sp. To me, that thing is such a dinosaur to drive after the driving in the TSX. I take the civic for road trips when I have to travel for work and it's the greatest thing to get home and get backi in my baby again.

From an interior standpoint, the civic has tons of plastic and very hollow feeling. And I don't like how low the seats sit since I'm a pretty tall guy at 6'3".

Don't get my wrong though, the civic is a good car. I can't complain about getting 35 mpg compared to my 25 and it's reliable, but I'll take my TSX in day of the week. But hey, I'm biased

I came from an 01 Civic EX Coupe. There is a huge difference in performance. The TSX is so quite that it kinda mutes how fast you are going. The civic sounds faster because the engine noise is much louder. Handling wise the TSX handles quite well for being stock. My Civic had eibach springs with koni shocks which does handle better than the TSX. Of course the Civic does weight quite a bit less. The power difference between these two cars sure makes it easier to drive in traffic.

I had an '96 Civic EX Coupe...of course there's a huge difference between the 2 cars..but there's something about driving a dumped Civic w/rims that can't be beat!!..Ultimitely I miss my Civic and it would be a cool 2nd car, but the TSX is much better to drive and is so much nicer (duhh..obviously!!!!)

wow, i think the seats sit very high. compared to a 2000 civic, you can easily tell the difference. i like how the seating in my 98 tl is just right.

I came from an 97 civic sedan LX and there is a huge difference. I was driving my old car for awhile to commute while my stereo was getting worked on in the TSX and everytime I got in it felt really slow. The difference is night and day. I could feel it the most on the freeway. I use to have only a little bit of acceleration when going 80 mph. ON the TSX I have plenty of acceleration in that speed range.

I have 02 Civic Si which I'll probably sell when I hit 97K. Thinking about a TSX.

1)Does TSX feel fat and/or heavy compared to the Si?

2)Worst thing about the Si is the ride, does the TSX ride 30% + better?

Muchas gracias.
