Well the new TL-S has red while the regular TL has green (?). Blue would be sweet, tho!

Well personally I noticed that it's hard to see the lights as it is. Even late at night, after seeing my gauges, HID lights on the road, etc....it's hard for my eyes to adjust to the interior lights quickly enough before having to look at the road again. I've just gotten used to pushing them in the dark. I, too, would like to replace the lights to make it brighter

but if the console lights are too bright, it is harder for you to look outside from the driver's point of view. just like driving a car with all the interior lights on; that's not a pleasant environment to drive at night.

but yea...blues will be cool!

e_electro (who hasn't been around for a while) did change his navi console buttons, window buttons, etc to a different color. The console buttons were a bit of a PITA as I recall, but the window buttons, as he said, were very simple. You just have to take apart the switch and solider in the new LEDs.

I'm a bit on the anal side, but I've noticed that the console/window/steering button lights don't quite match the white/blue dash lights. I'm guessing Acura used "whiteish" lights that get discolored/washed out after coming through the button caps; so I'm not sure if there's much that can be done about this (what color LEDs are installed stock?) IMHO, the only flaw in an otherwise perfect interior.

I'm not sure if it is just a small blub like a #74 type, the same type that illuminate the dash, but e_electro put in blue and white LEDs as examples and they came out the pure color regardless of the translucent filter on the buttons. He did this back in 2003 on his 04 TSX.

yea i want it to be blue or white just so that it matches the gauges. i just think it seems out of place to have green buttons with our interior scheme.

Search on Cardomain and see if e_electro's page is still up. At that time he was experimenting with it but no official DIY was written that I recall.

Here is his site:

It has some great guides to removing parts of the TSX!

I started this project. but am waiting for all my leds to come in the mail. I will try to do a DIY write up for this. I already know that you need surface mount leds, 3mm leds and also 5 mm leds. I was just having a lot of trouble locating surface mount leds. I ordered 10 or 20 to test and see if they fit.

Our Acura CSX up here in Canada have blue interior lights (buttons, switches, etc.) and it looks really cool at night. I always thought it's a nice touch and different from the usual greenish/white colour most cars have including our TSX. That said, it would be nice to have that colour on the TSX to compliment our blue gauges, ambient lighting and stuff.

Any pictures of your current work on the steering column?
