Just the opposite with me. My Acura Homelink opens the garage from a great range than the remotes that came with the doors. Might have something to do with the frequency of the opener. On my last car, someone added an extra "antenna" to the homelink and extended the range. If you contact Homelink (from their web page) maybe they can help you out. Some sort of thin metallic with some adhesive on it. Hand to drop the homelink unit down to attach it to the transmitter.

I was having problems w/ Homelink as well. I have a rolling code opener. Here's what worked for me. This worked for both an '04 TSX & and '07 RDX:

1) press & hold homelink button for 20 - 25 seconds to clear memory. The button light will flash slowly when memory is clear.

2) go to the door opener (the actually opener that is attached to the wall) and find the learning button (this can look a little different on different model openers). Press & release learning button so that the light flashes (some models light will remain lit instead of flash - this is ok).

3) immediately after step 2, get in your car and press and hold the homelink button for 3 - 4 seconds until is flashes very rapidly. Release the button. Now, press and hold again for 3 - 4 seconds until is flashes rapidly. Release the button. Finally, press and hold a 3rd time for 3 - 4 seconds until it flashes rapidly.

On the 3rd time, it actually opened the door - and was programmed from then on. This worked on both cars.

Hope this helps someone.

My TSX couldn't seem to grab the code from the remote while I was at home. I decided to try it at work. When I got home, it worked. I wonder if maybe my place is surrounded by interference or something.
