Hey toucan,

Nice job. I, too, did this mod ('05 Navi into '06 Non- Navi TSX) but could not figure out how to get bluetooth and voice command function to work w/o buying the steering wheel cable reel connector required.

Have you been able to to get these funcitons to work? If so, how?

Here's my thread:
https://acurazine.com/forums/audio-video-electronics-navigation-22/non-navi-navi-can-done-355663/

Also, nice brush aluminum plate. Where did you get it?

Thanks.

i was waiting it out... but got lucky and found a wrecked tsx on another website that was parting out... i ended up paying 1550 for everything shipped [including harnesses] for 06 navi...
i think if u wait a lil while it shouldn't be too hard to find one.. i also put in a search on www.junkyarddog.com and a junkyard in ny actually told me they had it.

waynester.. i thought the bluetooth was a part of the HUs.. ? on 06s.. soo i think the only way to keep bluetooth would be with an 06 unit ?

No I decided not to added the voice cmmand function. I haven't looked into it. I believe that you would have to take out the front panel to run the wire to the microphone.

For the Handsfreelink unit, from looking at the wiring diagram, there are 8 wires coming from the navigation unit to the handsfreelink unit, 2 coming from under dash fuse/relay box for power, and 1 from the voice control switch. 4 more wires will run from the audio unit (D) to the handsfreelink unit, 1 to the microphone, 1 to ground, and 1 to B-CAN. That looks like a lot of wiring & connectors to me.

very nice.

this is way too complex for me though. i would imagine this would be one of the more difficult DIY for the tsx.

not sure if the second set going to the mid is supposed to be for the center console? or continue running down the side of the car
the bunch of wires to the right i believe go to the fuse box?
your box is full!

You're right on the bluetooth. The '06 HU and the DVD rom unit have the Handsfree wiring. I was hoping that by now someone had found a way around it.

Looks like someone got a great deal on an entire '06 set up wih the wire harness. AWESOME!!!!

Thanks

It's hard to tell. You would have to open your car up and trace down the connectors and match them with the diagram in the manual. You might be right from looking at this picture.

If you can, I would cut up the wire harness and keep the ones for the navi only and run it as a separate set. But if you think it's easier to replace it with ur existing wires, then go for that.

And I can say that your are pretty lucky to get the whole set. Most of us had to do it the harder way.

good news! i'm DONE. lol. well got i tup

my touchscreen/buttons keeps on going out when im putting the unit back in.. i think i need to redo the wires on the connector at the bottom of the head unit.. but i have to wait til i get off work tomorrow.. i also attempted to connect to the hfl since my navi is an 06.. but no luck.. im guesssing the wiring difference in the steering wheel may be the cause.

i have similar question. i am putting a 2006 dvd drive into a 2004 w navi. i want to add the bluetooth and xm unit since i know the 2006 can support this. is it too complex to add bluetooth hands free?

same question again. looks like you attempted to add HFL, but it was too complex. can you provide details? i am going to do the same thing except to a 2004 tsx w/ navi. also the xm unit. where is the actual bluetooth receiver and microphone? i located that hardware from the same seller who is selling me the 2006 dvd drive, but i havent seen the pics yet. so i dont know where they actually go in the car. is it up near the sunroof? or is it in the head unit? i hope not the head unit, because i am gonna stay with my 2004 HU. i cant go adding a 2006 HU just for the bluetooth. hopefully it is simpler than that.

I myself am doing this mod for my girl friends car. She has an 04 TSX and I purchased an 04 navi unit. I'm not going to be setting up the voice activation so I'm not worried about that. I was wondering if you could repost the wiring diagram. I ran the wires and got the screen to work but the buttons don't seem to work when trying to put in the factory code, I think it has something to do with the bus signal. I also would like to see how you wired up the voice controls.

Thanks

Well I finally was able to get everything wiried up and working. Unfortuantly now it says that it can't acquire a signal. I do have the unit just sitting on the reat deck. Didn't want to physically install everything untill it's all working.
