Another Navi question

If you have the display set to auto, I thought that it would switch from day mode to night mode when you turn your headlights on. Mine stays in day mode whether the headlights are on or not and it's set to auto. Is there something I'm missing here?

I thought I remeber hearing that it has to do with the level of the interior lights. Play around with the level (the button near the sunroof open button) and see if that makes any difference.

When lights are on, turn the little knob on the instrument panel that dims the guages one click to the left.

I use that all the time because I drive with my headlights on during the day, so I have to manually switch between day and night mode, and turning that little knob is easier than changing it in the setup menu.

I was just looking over the voice command list, and you can even change that via voice... just say:

Display Day
Display Night
Display Auto

You just have your dash light adjustment up all the way when the lights are on.

When your lights are on, turn it down to 5 circles instaed of 6 circles. Then it should go into 'night' mode when the lights are on, and 'day' mode when the lights are off.

If you are talking about the Navi display, check your night settings. Maybe your night mode has the brightness level set to high. Using voice or the touch screen select night and adjust the brightness level. You should see a brightness level bar on the navi dispay, I think it is in Setup Screen 1.

Now go back to Auto, when the car lights are off the display should be in day mode and when you turn on the lights the display should go into night mode.

The dash lights were too bright. I had to go a few notches down so I would switch over automatically.
