Almost traded TSX for new CR-V
I just helped my daughter purchase a 2009 CR-V EXL AWD as I know the sales manager at the Honda dealership and have been doing business there for years, always get invoice or slightly above on new purchases. Anyways, was very impressed with the CR-V, like the looks, you sit higher, AWD when you need it and so we entertained the thought of trading in the TSX to get a CR-V for ourselves.....Hmmm, trade-in value from both the Honda dealership and an Acura dealer came back between $18,500 to 19K, WTF? The TSX only has 8,700 miles and is flawless. They gave me the song and dance about the new body style being out and newer ones (07 & 08) with mileage in the teens selling for about 20K. Anyways, made the decision to keep the TSX and after thinking about it, am really glad we did and here are some of the reasons why.
The TSX is more refined, gets better MPG's, has more power, has bluetooth, has homelink, has memory presets for the seats, is quieter, handles way better and best of all, its paid for. The CRV would have costs us around 26K out the door for an EXL with NO NAVI. Glad we came to our senses!

Uh, TSX to CR-V would've been a downgrade for you. Glad you decided not to trade in the TSX. Plus they would've gave you less than what the actual vehicle is worth since it's less than 10k miles you could still get 21k+ easy on a private sale.

They simply didn't want your primo TSX, and lowballed you thinking you would just looooove to get into that luxury CR-V. Good thing you didn't. A 2006 TSX (not a typo?) with < 10,000 miles on it will carry you through the next several presidential terms.

You don't drive much, do you?
I would estimate the value of a low mileage '06 TSX to be around $20,500 to $21,000. And, you could sell it for $21k -- if you want to deal with the hassle -- including the tight credit availability in the current economic climate.
But, as you now realize, you made the right decision.
What a dealer will offer for a trade has to do with a lot more than just the value of the trade; inventory, demand, allocations, operating costs, cash flow, kickbacks, and credit availability, for example, can be overriding factors.

Yeah, just got caught up in the moment of a "new" ride. The TSX is a much finer ride over the CR-V. It is my wifes car and we live really close to where she works. I have a Company car (ford escape - blah) which the gas and maintenance is all paid for, so we use that vehicle quite a bit which keeps the mileage really low on the TSEXX. Once again, really glad emotion didn't get the better of me and so I glad we stayed with the X
