i tried to see if my alarm was working so i clicked the lock button on my remote twice to hear the horn then waited 15sec then tried to open the door and it didnt go off. Then i thought it might take longer so i went in watched a movie came back and tried to open the door and the alarm still didnt go off. so how does it work?

It won't go off if you just pull the handle. If you have your windows down and try to open the car by reaching inside and unlocking it, it will go off.

I really don't like how the TSX doesn't have a shock sensor...

Is it possible to add a shock sensor to the factory alarm?

You can also just get a new aftermarket alarm system and still use the stock one.

So this thread talks about a thread over at a-cl about a shock sensor you can add to the stock alarm for $15 and 30 mins of labor. Has anyone tried it and/or know how to wire it for the TSX?

I haven't done it. Here's the wiring in the 4th or 5th post on this thread:

There is? I've not seen or heard of it before. Any details?

I kinda suspect that the dealer might be selling an add-on from their "expeditor" that's not an Acura part. Like it's probably the DEI part mentioned in that thread?

No, they have one. It's installed on all cars at the dealer. Part of the dealer prep process is to remove this extra unit. That's why when you go to the dealers, they always have the sticker saying that there is extra secuity protection on the car that is not included with the vehicle.

My mom has it on her TL, though we're never had it go off so
