Acura Navigation

Hello all,

Does anyone think Acura is moving away from touchscreen navigation in all their cars? The RL, MDX and RDX are not controlled through touchscreen anymore. I believe they are all controlled using a knob? (Not sure of the technical name for it.)

Do you think the redesigned TSX will NOT be touchscreen anymore? I.E. will the current TSX be the last Acura along with the TL to have touchscreen?

I know it sounds like a pretty lame question, but touchscreen and voice recognition are a big part of the buying decision for me. The car will be for my wife, so she doesn't particularly care about performance. Just luxury and convenience.

Thanks in advance!

yeah i dont know why they are moving away from the touchscreen. it seems that other car manufacturers are doing so also. my friends recently purchased the new G35 and the new BMW 335 and both of those have knobs and no touchscreens. personally i find it annoying to input text without the touchscreen. but i do get annoyed when the sun shines on my tsx touchscreen and i can see all the fingerprint marks that ive left

It would be nice to keep the touchscreen AND provide the knob. My choice is to move the knob on the center console between the gear shift and arm rest.

I've noticed the same trend, maybe it's because people press to hard and crack the screen???

Probably that and the point that it may be for safety reasons and it's less maintenance to keep wiping the navi screen from fingerprints.

I'm surprised no one has come up with a mouse-like nub mounted on the steering wheel for the navi system, instead of the odd-looking knobs we see in bimmers/lexus.

My current car is a 2002 540i. Let me tell you, the navi on BMW's suck balls compared to Acura/Lexus. On BMW's you can't even enter points of interest. You're stuck with what's on the edition of DVD you have. The interface is even worse. Don't even get me started on i-Drive on the current Bimmers.

I think touchscreen is the best the best solution to a navi interface. I especially like how the TSX touchscreen controls the climate functions as well. Keeps everything in one central spot. Plus, it looks cool to change climate settings by simply touching the screen!

I believe many cars are having to place the navigation back away from the driver to keep inline with their intended interior look. If you can't easliy extend you arm and reach the screen they must turn to a joystick or knob. Just my
