Acura Kicking Ass in canada
From Canadiandriver.com
"Import luxury cars generally did well in August. Lexus set a new monthly record of 735 luxury cars and SUVs, 27.4 per cent more than August, 2002. Infiniti had its best August on record with sales of 627 vehicles. Acura sold 2,221 vehicles but did not report a gain or loss. Audi Canada's sales increased 31.3% to 683, and Volvo Cars of Canada's August sales increased 13% to 841. Porsche's Canadian sales of 114 vehicles was up 10 percent entirely as a result of strong sales of its new SUV, the Cayenne."
Acura sold 2,221 cars in August in Canada compared to Lexus who sold 735. Ok, Acura Canada sells the EL here which is a glorified Civic but Lexus has more trucks available. This is why Honda loves the Canadian market.

It would be nice to see a breakdown of Acura sales by model (Canada & USA). I read somewhere that the EL is their best seller, which I can believe, but I'd sure be interested to see the full breakdown.

Acura Canada has the EL, TSX, and RSX, all of which start at lower MSRP than the cheapest Lexus. So, it is not surprising that Acura is outselling Lexus. More low priced, high volume cars. However, if you compare sales of the 2003 TL to the ES300, the RL to the LS430/GS430, you'd find that Acura is getting its butt kicked.

I certainly don't think so. I'm surprised they even go that high.
Anyway, Lexus is already feeling heat from the new TL. They just installed a larger V6 into the ES300 and made leather a standard feature (yes, the current ES300, for 31K, comes with a cloth interior as standard equipment) and kept prices the same.

I don't think Lexus is beating Acura in US, in terms of actual number of units sold. Acura sells more RSXs than Lexus sells of the LS and GS series combined.
