Accident in Leased TSX

Has anybody ever been in an accident in a leased TSX or Acura? Do I need to call the dealership and let them know? Or do I just let the insurance company deal with it and let the dealership find out on their own. Does it void my lease in any way?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Insurance handles it. Dealership has nothing to do with it except making the repairs.

Just call your insurance company and report it. Has no effect on the lease.

It wasn't my fault. Does the dealership have to make the repairs, or can I have an outside company do it?

Anyone can make the repairs. Just make sure they do a good job so you do not get dinged at the end of lease inspection.

The insurance company will handle it. 2 yeras ago my Honda Civic was a victim of a hit and run ... 6K worth of damage .. the insurance repaired all the damage.. I had however to pay $ 500 deductible

I won't have to pay a deductible. It wasn't my fault! And only $1800 worth of damage. Just wasn't sure how the procedure was on a leased vehicle since I don't technically own it.

At the end of lease the inspection should prove that the vehicle has only expected wear and tear..In an accident you have to make sure the lease vehicle is brought upto spec i.e a good body shop. You are free to choose any shop to fix it, but in your case I would recommend the body shop of the dealer if they have one or any good shop that they recommend, especially since you do not have to pay the $$$... Also a good shop would give a lifetaime warranty so incase something shows up in end oflease inspection or you decide to buy the vehicle then you have some recourse

I totally recommend going to a body shop the dealer recommends, unless the other guy's insurance won't do that. I ran into the back of someone a couple of years ago in my old 04 TL and it was $12k in damage. I took it to the recommended body shop of the dealer I bought the car from and they did excellent work. There were tons of Acura's in the lot, so I assume the dealer sends all their work there. I ended up trading the TL in, ending the lease and getting into a RDX with barely any loss. I don't have the RDX anymore, but that's another story.
