3m Clear Bra question

Hello,

I'm just curious if anyone that has the 3m clear bra on their fog lights has had any issues with the heat from the fog lights burning them yet? I know that this topic has been discussed before, but I wanted to get some updates. I still tend to NOT run my fog lights in fear of the heat burning the lens, but if people on here aren't having issues, then maybe I will start using them.

Thanks much!

Jeff

I have 3M clear bra on my fog light 'covers' (07 Tsx, btw) and laminx yellow covers on my fog lights and run my fogs pretty much constantly and have not had the stock bulbs burn out yet after about 9 months.

I did for about 2 weeks run some cheap ebay yellow H11 bulbs that did burn out, not sure if it was because of the laminx covers or just being cheap bulbs in the first place. I'm guessing the colored glass runs hotter than clear/normal H11 bulbs and that contributed to their failure.

Thanks for replying to my post, however, that wasn't my question. My question was whether or not the heat emitted from your fog lights burned the clear bra material that was on your fog light.

I can't speak from experience, but I've heard people on here say that the only time it burned the film was if they kept the fogs on for extended periods of time when the car wasn't moving.

well, I just got my clear bra installed yesterday.
I got headlight and foglight film too.

Best I can do is tell you in however long if it was effected or not.

I can tell you that I bought two sets of fog light covers just in case.

When you buy a clear bra, it does not come with light covers.
Those are separate.

I doubt many people here have clear bra material on their fogs.

Sorry in advance because I know this is really relevant to this thread, but I didn't want to start a whole new thread for it. Can someone lead me to a website (a few if you know a few) that carries the M3 front lip spoiler for the TSX? I did a search but I'm running into roadblocks trying to find them. :/

I would appreciate it.

As far as your question goes the Lamin-x directions suggest turning off your foglights for times when you will not be moving for 10 or more minutes.

Mornings are pretty foggy and we have had quite a few snowy mornings but basically I just like the look of my car with headlights and fogs both on.

I suspected as much. When you get to be my age (old), you'll realize that the light pollution caused by the proliferation of these "fog", or "driving", or "accessory" lights (or as I renamed them years ago, "idiot" lights since they seem to be used for their intended purpose about 1% of the time by people who evidently don't know any better) tends to be quite annoying, day and night (men's eyes are like their sex drive; after 18 it's down hill)(no burns here please; I know 95% of you are exceptions to the rule). Sorry if I sound like a grumpy old man (hey, if the shoe fits......), but this issue is a hot button for me. Since I can't imagine that I'm the only one with this concern, maybe you could keep this in mind. Rant over.

I have a 06 TSX I've purchased in May of 06. I installed the 3M clear bra on my A-spec front end, headlights, and OEM fogs. I always run my TSX with the fog lights on and I have no problems with burning or discoloration after almost 2 years. I only do about 30% of my driving at night and about 50% of the time on the hwy. I don't turn my lights on during the day except in bad weather.

It cost me an extra $50 to 3M all my lights. If you saw my lower radiator living in sandy New Mexico, it was money well spent!!!

Mine have www.xpel.com film and no problem after 2 years and 24k miles. And I have the "fog" lights on whenever the headlights are on because they give enough light to the sides so I can see deer in the ditches easier.

I use clearbra material on my fogs. I have yellow bulbs in it. I only use it when it is necessary, so clearbra film holds up fine.

I agree with you. Front fogs don't bother me as much. Rear fogs bother me. Those clueless drivers with Jags and BMW's driving with it on when it is not needed. They must think it is for extra front fogs or something. I just turn on my high beams and blind them, and they have no clue to why I'm blinding them.
