2007 tsx price? Need your input!

I was just quoted 2007 $29,460 for a six speed with nav. There was leftover 06' sitting in the lott (six speed/nav) for $28,360. He was trying to tell me that since the six speeds are rare and 2007's are new for the model year blah, blah that is the reason that he can't discount the 2007 any further. Is this a fair deal for an 07 or is this a rip off price?

I think that is fair for right now since they just came out, but if you're willing to wait 1 or 2 months i dont think a 500-1000 dollar reduction is out of the question. Where in the country are you located? Sometimes prices vary widely from region to region.

I'm 100 miles east of philly. I would hate to get the 2006 tsx in order save that $1000 and in 3 weeks it's considered a 1 year old car. My other option is to pick the 2007 Si Sedan, which the dealership is only going $200 off MSRP.

if you want the 2006, pay no more than $26500 for the 6MT w/nav...there is a $1000 maunfacturers rebate on the leftover 06's....if you don't need a car today, then it's a good idea to wait till their lot fills up with 2007's...then you can get a better price.

I understand your point about getting an 06 and having it become a one year old used car. I think it really depends on what type of car buyer you are. If you are the type that changes cars every 2-5 years then I would go with the 07 to get maximum resale value. But if you are like me and plan to drive the car for 7+ years or so, then the 06 is more than sufficient.

The 2007 will get you Higher Resale Value, Tire Pressure Monitoring and the ability to use the upgraded MusicLink software. It also probably works out any issues like front seat squeak that plagued the 2006's.

For $500-1000 extra I would spring for the 2007 in a heartbeat.

Why would you pay that much more when the invoice price increased only $200?

I think you guys misunderstood what the OP posted. The 200 dollars off invoice he was talking about is for the 2007 Honda Civic SI Sedan, and NOT for the 07 TSX

I dunno, this is what I got from Kelly. The car is at the dealer lot and I havn't sign any official paper work yet. I'm definitely going to try and low ball them some more. Do you guys think I can do even better? I hate getting this car and walking away feeling ripped off

Personally, I don't pay more than $500 over invoice for any car, exclusive of any rebates or incentives. I think any dealer would be satisfied with that, considering they have a car on their lot that's costing them $$$ for every month they don't sell it. Try to get him down from the $29,460 that he originally quoted you. If you have the time to wait till the end of the month and the car is still on his lot, you should be able to close the deal on your terms.

OK ... I bought a 2007 base TSX black/black + winter package (well, at least that's what they called it -- winter floor mats, trunk mat + mud guards. MSRP ~US$300)

Got it for US$26,970 (including doc, title, destination charges) I'm bringing it back to Canada and title it here -- saved 6% Michigan sales tax (to pay 14% Ontario taxes) to title it here.

Isnt that not allowed? Dont you have to keep US plates on it now? I heard they are stoping Canadians from doing that because the US car deals are amazingly better.

40,000 for a TSX here with taxes...ontario. 43 with navi.

Here in Los Angeles you can get a new 06 for $24,750.

****UPDATE**** I got the 2007 w/nav for $30,600 OTD. I had to visit a couple of dealerships for some price quotes, then went back to original dealership and haggle pricing.

That's what I thought ... until a couple of friends bought brand new Volvos from a US dealership.

Went over to Acura to do the same thing. I pay for the car tomorrow and will bring it over on Tuesday (I need to give US Customs 72 hours notice that I will be exporting a car over to Canada).

I can thank RIV (Registry of Imported Vehicles -- www.riv.ca) to list a TSX to bring over to Canada. It's essentially the same car except the speedo is reversed (MPH is in bold ... km/h is in small font), no DRLs ... but I do get a trial of XM radio for free.

Trust me ... you will save THOUSANDS over the Canadian price. I estimate about C$3500 savings by buying it in the States. For a day of my time ... I think it's worth it! (I'm just a little upset that the CAD$ is at an 8-month low against the US$ )

To answer your questions: I avoid paying US state taxes since it is for export only. The dealership will bring the car to the border ... then the rest is up to me. I will drive it over without ANY plates, then have it towed to my house. I then go to MOT for plates ... then Canadian Tire to get RIV inspection / modifications completed. Then emissions test ... then final inspection for compliance. BANG. Saved C$3500.

I'm not sure where you got your prices ... MSRP C$37,400 for a base TSX. Add C$1430 for freight ... C$100 for A/C tax ... C$29 + C$69 for plates & sticker ... C$75 for gas guzzler tax (only a hybrid, microsized cars and Civics do not get taxed from what I remember ... need something like 40 miles/ US gallon to avoid this tax). Then 14% tax ... you're talking way over C$40k for a base TSX.

Even if you shave off C$2000 from the MSRP, you're still talking C$42 000 including taxes for a base TSX in Ontario.

I just bought a 2007 AT with 2k off MSRP. They couldn’t find an 07 6MT anywhere, but they had tons of automatics. I did drive a 2006 6MT, but really didn’t see where having a six speed was worth the trouble of shifting gears. I could see it if you have rear wheel drive posi track with at least 300hp (I traded my 04 g35 coupe 6MT )

QFT.

It also gets you automatic headlights (It's hard to believe we're just now getting them) and HID high beams.
