Yup. Brand new 2007 6MT.

TL is a dog compared. Haven't driven a TL in a long time, but from what I remember it felt awful heavy and didn't really drive very sporty. The G35 is a superior drive in nearly every way (TL interior and sound system are amazing).

Did you drive the TL in auto or manual?

Auto. Was helping my mother pick out a new car about 1.5 years back. She ended up with a 330i sedan. Can't blame her pick. It came down to the Acura and the BMW. Acura value, interior room and quality and amazing stereo vs the better drive of the BMW. She decided the BMW was worth it and I don't think once that she has ever regretted her choice (at least not told me).

Both of us agreed the TL was a bit of a pig in handling. I think every other car we looked at had a nicer drive (A4, BMW, Volvo S40, G35). Its just that the Acura just offered so much car for the money that kept it at the top of the list.

I think it really depends on the attributes considered to determine the measuring scale.

I see the G35 meeting the needs of most TSX buyers, yet falling short in the "size" category for most TL buyers. For this reason, I would consider the G35 a lateral step (with some enhancements) to the TSX, while the TL would be a step up (in size).

I'm actually quite happy taking lateral steps. For those occasions when I need the extra space, I also have an SUV at home.

There you go man! That's why the TL you drove was a dog, cause it was an auto. Maybe if it was also a 6sp manual it might be faster, but not as a fast as a 6MT 07 G35.

I dunno man. I thought it was pretty obvious it's a class higher.
Larger engine, larger cabin, larger exterior, larger pricetag, lol.

I have been reading over this thread and as a owner of a 2005 G35 sedan 6spd with every option except sat radio if you took a 2005 TSX and put it next to a 2005 G35 they have very similiar options they are almost exactly the same my G35 has 98hp more and is RWD the interior I don't think is that great I am turning mine in under the lemon law I have had the car in numerous times because every once in a while you can't fill the gas tank up all the way and all the interior rattles I had to take it in for it was noisier than my grandpa's old Ford. The tires that it comes with are crap the extra money you pay for the "Bose" stereo which is around $1500 is for one speaker that is in the back deck all the others are some other company. Now I don't think it is fair to compare the G35 and TSX because if you take my G35 and you put the window sticker next to a TSX with same options the G35 is probably going to be at least $6-7k more. Now for the 2007 the G35 is in and has been in a class with the TL never the TSX the 07 has 305hp thats 100hp more than a TSX the features are still pretty close. Infiniti built the new G to compete with BMW 3 series more and cars in that class. I got rid of a 2004 STI to get the G35 and regret it every day but the TSX is a great car tons of features for the price and a Nav system that it has is way better than what I got now by far. I would love to have a 2007 G35 but I'd rather have the extra $$$ in my pocket.

Just look at the metal trim, the bluetooth features, infiniti's version of handsfree link and voice activated controls. Yes, the infiniti does seem impressive on paper, but we'll have a more even comparison when the 4G TL arrives.
Yea but by the time the "4G Tl" comes or came out so will the new and even more improved G-series car will come out as well, I'm still not understanding how people want to keep comparing Acura's to the Infiniti G-series models.
