nice article...i got the 04 so i dont get the blue tooth hands free or that cool little text box between the speedometer and the Tach...but i love my ride

i cross shopped a 04 Maxima, the 04 Accord 6MT V6, IS300, and a used 2003 CL-S back in May of 04.

Bought the TSX because of its looks (Sharp profile IMO), sporty feel, features (value all the way), and quality of materials...

Accord didn't handle well (POS and ugly at that)
Maxima had a bunch of cheap materials inside and out (Loved the power though)
IS was a little dated in style and features (Not too mention funky looking cluster dash)
CL-S was nice but also dated...

funny how everytime i bring it up, people say (but its soo slow, you shouldve gotten the Accord and saved a few G's....

Some people will never understand

Wow, the comments section turned into a heated debate. It's interesting to read all these stupid comments about FWD vs RWD and how Honda is inferior. My brother used to drive a Jackson supercharged '02 Civic Si with every suspension modification imaginable. It got to a point where he was installing something new about twice a month with each new paycheck he got. He embarassed more than a few high-end RWD sports cars that tried to hang with him in a corner. It's a true example of how suspension setup is ultimately more important than which wheels the power is delivered to.

But to be honest, everyone always talks about the TSX's great handling and I personally don't feel it. Yeah, the TSX has a front and back double-wishbone suspension, which is actually more sophisticated that the BMW 3-series MacPherson strut /multilink setup. But it suffers from high curb weight, economy tires and soft/high gravity springs and shocks. It has nice handling "characteristics" and good road manners, but you can't tear though corners in it like a sports car.

After I got the A-Spec installed with high performance tires, the handling got much better, but still not up to par with the Mazda3 I used to drive. And even though my TSX has better feedback and more solid steering and is more fun to drive than the Mazda3 as a result, it's not nearly as agile and tossable. I've come to accept the sacrifice of handling that comes with a heavier luxury car.

I think the rest of the TSX is the tits though. And I really like getting 35mpg on road trips. I think most of the hate for the TSX comes from car snobs who don't even know what a TSX drives like.
