2006 Acura TSX. Good Idea?

Just purchased a 06 tsx with 100k on it and love it. My friend really likes mine and is looking at one as well. However he is looking at one with 179k for 8,300. High miles is high miles no matter how good a car manufacturer is. So my question is what does everyone else think about one with this many miles. Keep in mind it has a clean car fax and it is a clean non navi car with everything else though.

Lol and yes I do know that my post can look confusing at first.

Too many miles at too high a price.

carfax's are only good with information provided to them. Even tho I have all the service done by acura dealers only one service and a recall show up on the carfax. The dealers I use in Pa and NC do not share info with them. The same thing could be with body shops, etc. I would ask for service records and have the car checked out by either a acura dealer or trusted mechanic.

Good points here, and as opposed to what's been posted, if the other car (the one with 179K miles) is an 06, the asking price is actually kind of low (Edmunds.com has a base 06 AT with that mileage at $9100 PP sale). I'd be curious what kind of shape it's in. We have two TSX's (and 05 and an 07), and both with over 150K miles. And they both have been bulletproof, still run like new, and don't use a drop of oil (or anything else). I wouldn't let the mileage alone scare me away if the price is right and the car has been maintained properly.

I had an '05 that never gave me a bit of problems, and I do believe these cars are rock solid, but I'd be gun-shy about that many miles.

Since we can assume the car in question was purchased or not over 3 months ago, I'd guess the thread is dead. But.... since it was resurrected, I guess I'd be curious what the outcome was.
