2006 Acura TSX for $24800 - Was this a good deal?

I bought an Acura 2006 TSX for $24800. Fully loaded except no navigation system, and 9700 miles.

When you include taxes, fees, and other charges the final cost came to $32k.

Was this a good deal?

That's too high. How is it that taxes + other fees came out to ~7K?

I bought my 2006 no-nav for $25300 OTD (NEW) the first week of December. Only thing extra was local tax.

2006 Acura TSX for $24800

OOPS!....I gave the wrong figures.

The selling price was $24,800.

The 32k was before deducting the $5000 down payment.

All together I will be on a 72 month payment plan, $388/ mo.

So all together I will be paying $27938.88

Is that still alot?

Would it have been better if I got a 2007 TSX instead??....

Man, I got ripped off didn't I?

You're just confusing me more.

How are you not paying for a $5K down payment?

$32K - $5K = ~$27K financed - Is that what you're trying to say?

If so you got ripped off bigtime.

Where did the $24.8K figure come from?

I think the 5K refers to the financing charges over the 72 month term.

His (real) total price is 32K. Most people don't include the interest they will pay over the duration of the term into their final cost, but that is in fact part of the final cost.

so $32k... did you get anything "extra"? lo-jack, extended warranty, aspec kit, mud guards or etc? otherwise, it's a terrible deal. we're not here to make you feel bad, but next time ask the price question before you pay for it. either way, enjoy the car.

I bought a 2006 TSX (Black on black, non-navi, 6MT) with only 1800 miles on it for $23,200 OTD (and no tax in AK). You could have bought a brand new '07 for the price you paid! Highway robbery!

Are you financing 27,938.88 in total - including interest charges?

Then several thousand are interest charges (as a 72-month term is long and costs $$ in interest charges), and your out-the-door price would be significantly lower.

I do have mud guards, and it's fully loaded..with the leather interior and all....I looked everywhere on the internet and that was the best price I got....Oh well...nothing I can do about it now, except enjoy the car, like you said...

paragon acura in queens, NY.

my wife, and a friend of ours, actually only wanted to get a quote because we were planning to go to another dealership in larchmont, NY to actually shop for one (our friend is a dealership auditor and told us the acura dealership was a good one...and another friend of ours said paragon wasn't so great).

long story short, we were stuck with a new guy who had no clue what he was doing. he wasted a bunch of our time. i waited literally almost 3 hours to test drive the car, and i didn't even get to try the 2007 (it was the 2006, but it's pretty much the same). we basically told the manager that they were were treating us like crap, we know what we want, and if you're willing to give us the price we want we'll walk out the door with the car that day.

and that's how we got our new 2007 TSX.

wait, if it's loaded with all that stuff, that's not so bad.

actually, i saw an 06 TSX, brand new on the lot that was pretty loaded. it had the a-spec body kit, lip spoiler (they must've specially ordered it), tinted windows, the window visors, lo/jack, etc...and they were asking $32-something. which imo is kinda steep considering it's been sitting on the lot a whole year and it even had some surface damage on the paint near the bottom of the car b/c it was from jersey and brought to NY.

we severely low-balled the sales guys with $24-25 just to see what would happen but they scoffed at it. oh well. i have a new 07 and i'm happy with it. i'll just mod it at my own expense and time frame.

In reference to the purchase of your TSX..... I don't think it was a bad deal. Its just another good example that the TSX holds its value and doesn't depreciate as much as other cars. I bought an 06 TSX with no navi for $26,100 + tax and had 7 miles on it.

IMO, the final price depends alot on where you live. Competition.

You didn't get ripped off then.

Usually people don't post their OTD (out the door) price with all their interest charges included. That's why yours seems very high in comparison to theirs.

Sounds Pretty Good

I got my 2006 white pearl with Navi in late December for 27K even before taxes. It was new so you have a few more miles, but it sounds like a decent deal to me - enjoy !

You think 32 something is bad?

When we were buyingmy TL we saw a brand new 06 TSX in the showroom with, I belive, only A-Spec added on. Guess how much the price was...

40gs! That was so crazy.... I mean the final price on my brand new 06 TL was $40gs as well... I think whoever decided to price that TSX was on something...

Dude, i think you got RIPPED off!! I just bought a brand new 2006 ASM 5AT with 27 miles on it for only $24,890 OTD. I traded in my 04 5AT TSX for $17k and put another $3k down. So my payment is like $154 a month for 36 months, but i'll pay it off by the end of year. That wasn't that great of a deal sorry......

When I purchased my new 07 TSX, I paid 24,995. We also picked up an 06 brand new with 1300 miles for 23,500 for my sister. I think that we got a package deal... neither had navi, but each came with 500 worth in free accessories.

LOL you really didn't do your homework did you??? You CAN'T get the TSX w/o leather. All that stuff you consider "fully loaded" comes standard. The only option is the Navi and you didn't get it. Which pretty much means you got the base model. I'm sorry, I don't want to make you feel bad, but my suggestion is doing some hw before shelling out 32k on a car man. Well, for reference, I got my 2006 pwp/navi brand new in Bay Area California back in July 06 for $29,700 out the door including all taxes. Anyway, the TSX is a great car and I think what you got is still worth what you paid for, so enjoy!!! =)

What???...I thought my car was fully loaded, but the whole time it was just a base model....LOL...that's sooo sad...And i was tellin' everyone it's fully loaded...I don't know nothin' bout cars.......

Before I had my Acura...I had a 95 Toyota Tercel...That's why I considered the Acura fully loaded..

Changing subject:
I was going to get a 2007 Toyota Camry because I come from a family of Toyota owners, but I'm soooo glad I went for the Acura....!!!
