2006 250hp 2.0 Turbo TSX

I heard this rumor from a source thats rarely wrong and never make shit up. But this bugs me.....

Why would Honda go for a turbo? What about Hondas philosophy of NA engines? But I still wouldnt mind a turbo car from honda.

Also The S2200 is coming out to replace the S2000. Wonder how that will be?


Anyone else hear about this stuff?

S2200 sounds kinda weird and i prefer the name S2000. There was a link about TSX turbo coming out soon.

The current '05 s2000 is the s2200 (2.2L). They didn't change the name from s2000 because honda's marketing department, like everyone in this thread, realized that it sounds strange.

That kind of HP would take it to the head of the pack, although by 07 some of the current entries in the category might get HP bumps also. 325, A4, IS250, CTS 2.8, G25, C280 are/will be between 200 and 220HP.

Maybe like everyone else in the category, the TSX will have two engine choices. Or this could be fitted in some S-type trim of the car.

It seems like the only way to boost the power on the TSX is via the Turbo route cause they can't fit any bigger NA engine in there.

Why would it be a 2.0 Turbo, with 50 horse upgrade, they should just make a super-car like the S4 or m3 and turbo charge the 3.2 V6, now that would be kick ass. I'm sure the engineers at Acura could figure out how to prevent the engine from blowing.

The problem with the 3.2L V6, as we've talked about from the beginning, is that the added weight upsets the handling balance and plus, the engine is too wide to fit into the smaller engine bay.

It's an improvement for the TSX, but the TL would need another upgrade. Maybe SH-AWD 300HP TL?

Then the RL would need some upgrade, perhaps the first V8?

Anyways, I like how Acura is pushing foward and making advancements, though I'm not too thrilled about the predicted 2.0L 250HP.

Yea... you're right about that.
However, from driving an 03 TL type S.
That thing is fast! Especially in the Vtec range. This one time i was test driving one and was using the sport shift mode. I was just keeping up with traffic and testing out the SS mode and sort of let the RPM's float at around 4-5000. Then when it was time to move i hit the gas just a tad and the thing shot forward like a slingshot
My GF was like HEY! BE CAREFUL!
The salesperson who also was like "whoa" also said "hey! It's not yours yet!" lol
Anyways... awesome engine. But dont think it would do too well in the TSX as far as handling. But i bet it would make it scream in a straight line.

I test drove a tl-s and wasn't all that impressed with the acceleration to be honest. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful car and I really considered getting one but maybe I expected more from a 3.2l v6 with 260hp. Then again, there were 4 people in the car so maybe that factored "heavily".

The TL-S and the regular TL is going to feel the same at the lower RPMS. It's where you get up high that the TL type S screams. You need to use the SS in order to maintain in the high RPMS. Otherwise the tranny is going to upshift to lower your rpms.
