I said 5-10 lbs. I believe it is much more likely they neglected to factor in that new weight than to think they actually reduced the car's weight in another area and compensated for it (exactly down to the pound).

One of the reasons why I didn't buy the TL. Hated the 4 spoke wheel + black buttons.

I didn't realize older VINs had a green ring... interesting. I only wish the center console's storage bin light was blue as well (the one inside), instead of pea green.

I bet that Milano with ebony interior looks great.

Ya those black buttons on the 2005 look cheap to me. I went to the dealership planning on buying the TL but there were some things that bothered me about that car. The black buttons were one of them. I'm glad I bought the 2004. The 4 spoke steering wheel on the TL keeps on reminding me of the one in Ford Windstar.

2. XM is controlled throught the NAVI if you have it, there is a screen shot that shows this.
3. It seems as if the voice recognition went to school. the 2004 Brochure states: "Using any one of 180 voice commands, you can..." the 2005 Brochure states: "... and the system will recognize over 280 voice commands"
4. Yes the 2005 brochure sucks. 0 shots of the car with parchment or quartz interior; 0 shots of a non-navi; mention of a A-Spec Performance Package with no picture of it; 0 shots of the Blue; 0 shots of the Meteor Silver Metallic; 0 blown up shots under the hood, only an extreme closeup of the engine; no price; But with all said and done, at least we get a Full Page blow up of the Mirror with the turn signal.

Good thing is that the folks who made the brochure did not make the car. I dont have one yet, but man am I looking forward to getting one. On my christmas list this year is a 05 Carbon Grey Pearl ebony, 6 speed, Navi, with fog lights and the MP3 player. I figure if I am in my car for 3-4 hours a day, I better be comfortable.

Just my .02

right on the mark

You can get a signal here, you just can't subscribe to the service because it's not offered to canadians. It's probably a CRTC thing.

Heh, no big deal. I know if I wanted better pictures of the brochure, I should've used a flash then. However, I was lazy and did it impromptu without setting up a lightstage, and disassembling the brochure in order to get flat pictures and a better angle.

Anyways, for all you TSX owners, you'll probably be stopping by the dealer to fix the trunk problem that was mentioned in the Acura Recall Letter and will have ample opportunity to pilfer some brochures. (unless the dealer is 50+ miles away, then it's not so convenient)

Thoughts:

1. The steering wheel buttons remind me of those on my mom's '04 Accord EX-L, and I think the XM antenna is the same, too.

2. The ~10lb difference due to the power seat is negligible...1 gallon of gas weighs 8lbs, so who cares about 10 when you are talking about 3200 overall. Not like our car is a Lotus Elise or something.

3. To the guy who said he didn't want to pay more for a feature he didn't want (XM): That's what Acura and Honda do, man, give you everything for a low price. Check out BMW/Porsche/Mercededs option prices, would that be better? I'll take it all for 1 low price, thanks.

4. I want factory XM. IWANTITIWANTITIWANTIT!!!! PLEASE let me refit it for less than $500. Might be a good Christmas present this year.

It's called a freakin PO box. Set one up in america, just over the boarder. and thats the address you subscribe to. But by what i hear XM aint really work the 11 bux a month you would spend. or 10. The DJ's suck to the fullest

That sounds like what the 2004 TL has (the chirp). I had a 04 TL for a day or so as a loaner while I had my 20,000 mile service and my Audio-HVAC Display Module replaced (SB 04-021) on my TSX.

Yeah I was surprised too. But I also noticed they got the 2005 TL's in. I have to admit it makes for a great sales device. It even had fully working XM Satellite Radio (which I am sure that is done on purpose). I have to admit that after driving it for a day or so that I was questioning whether I should have waited until the 2004 TL came out (which was late 2003) when I decided on a new car (I bought my TSX in April 03). Especially when I experienced the power of the TL engine and the DVD Audio 5.1 Surround sound system. Pretty nice. But as nice as I thought the TL was, I got to sit in the new RL at the dealer. Man that is a pretty sweet car.

That took me a while to figure out!

It's been a long while since I've looked at pics of the 04 TSX...

Yes, they may look a bit ugly, but there may be an actual reason behind the colour change. I think it's because if you light up the buttons during the day (ie. if you turn on your headlights during the day), then the text on silver buttons will be difficult to read, since the text will become light coloured, and the button will also be light coloured.

I've got a PowerBook G4 Aluminum with the silver keys, and under certain ambient lighting situations, the keyboard backlight will come on, and the letters on the keyboard almost disappear.

Everything looks good so far on the new version. I just hope the MSRP doesn't go up much for a "base" model in Canada....
