TSX learning curve for knowing the placement of the buttons is much lower than the RL learning curve. There were so many buttons when I test drove the RL that it was basically necessary to use the Voice Recognition system rather than search through a sea of buttons.

Well, this 2005 brochure still lists the 6MT non-Navi as 3230 lbs which is the same as the 2004 model. I expected the power passenger seat to add 5-10 lbs (and I suspect in reality it does).

Hmmm, I do like my 04 TSX, but I wish the keyring ignition had the blue light instead of the green light so it'd match the ABP and ambient lighting.

I give it a month or two before there is a thread asking where to get an illuminated steering wheel and a thingy for the roof.

Im sure you can change it if you really want to, but it would probably be a PITA.

Are you talking about the ring of light around where you stick your key on the steering column? Mine's blue. I didn't even know some were green. That's weak, dude.

2004 TSX (but since it's got a blue light around the keyhole thingey I'm gonna tell everybody it an 05)

Yes, I am talking about the ring of light where the key goes into. The earlier VIN TSX's had green lights. I'm not sure at what point they were changed to blue. It's probably in one of the posts far back in this forum as I recall posts about it a long time ago.

It doesn't really say one way or the other in the brochure that I can see. I have the same question.

If there's already a poll I don't see a reason to start a new one, I see enough about the AT/MT war as it is.

Ah, doesn't look that much different from the 04's.

Acura should really consider outsourcing for their photos, all the shots have been seen and are old

iamhomin, who has a blue ring.

Yes.
None of us probably expected acura to just photochop '04 pics and put the antenna thingy on existing photos.

I agree. And I expected them to weigh a new model so the 2005 TSX brochure would actually have accurate weight specs!

05 Brochure points

A couple of points I noticed on the 05 Brochure:
1. If you look closely between the 04 and 05 Brochure Navi shots, you will see they changed the UI slightly. The 6 disk icon is different and in a slightly different location, some buttons are gone, turn by turn map looks slightly different, etc.
2. XM is controlled throught the NAVI if you have it, there is a screen shot that shows this.
3. It seems as if the voice recognition went to school. the 2004 Brochure states: "Using any one of 180 voice commands, you can..." the 2005 Brochure states: "... and the system will recognize over 280 voice commands"
4. Yes the 2005 brochure sucks. 0 shots of the car with parchment or quartz interior; 0 shots of a non-navi; mention of a A-Spec Performance Package with no picture of it; 0 shots of the Blue; 0 shots of the Meteor Silver Metallic; 0 blown up shots under the hood, only an extreme closeup of the engine; no price; But with all said and done, at least we get a Full Page blow up of the Mirror with the turn signal.

Good thing is that the folks who made the brochure did not make the car. I dont have one yet, but man am I looking forward to getting one. On my christmas list this year is a 05 Carbon Grey Pearl ebony, 6 speed, Navi, with fog lights and the MP3 player. I figure if I am in my car for 3-4 hours a day, I better be comfortable.

Just my .02

Brochure shows that it has not changed at all, which is of course impossible. However the difference may be small enough that they didnt feel like paying to change that part of the brochure. Or maybe they forgot. Or maybe the new power pass seat motor is made out of some new super magic material that is weightless

of course green ring > blue ring.

green ring is the origional, and is now a rare breed.

And if you have green ring AND mt, well then you are golden.

I find this strange since they changed the orientation of the brochure so it's not as though they reprinted last years brochures. I don't understand why they didn't just change the weight. Maybe they were just too lazy to get it weighed.

From what I understood, I thought the XM radio now comes standard just like on the TL.

Since XM is suppose to be standard on all 2005 TSX models, I would expect they would all have the antenna.

You think maybe some of those features are options? Maybe they didn't take the weight difference into acct since the power passenger seat MAY be an option?

I don't know. Just a guess.

As for the Pwr pass seat motor, do those things really weight 10-15 lbs? Maybe they cut weight elsewhere to keep it at 3230?
