2004 Used TSX Price

Sorry if this had been gone over before. I tried a search and couldn't find what I was looking for.

I was just at Superior Acura in Overland Park, KS and looking at an '04 TSX non Navi AT. The car is WDP and has about 17,000 miles on it. They want $25,995. I only got them to $23xxx with the trade in of my 1998 Civic EX with 145k on it. Am I being a little greedy wanting more than $2k for my EX that is in mint condition other than mileage and needing new tires (the dealer says new clutch, though I just had a maintenance done and the Honda dealer said nothing about it). Also, isn't $25,995 a little high for a used TSX with non-navi? I found the car a really want in the showroom, a '04 Anthracite 6MT. Anyone have any experience with a used price and trade in. Thanks for the help.

I got my new CG non-navi for about that price last December ($25,990), so I think they are charging way too much for a car with 17k miles on it.

That's what I thought

They have an '04 Non-Navi 6MT in the showroom in Carbon Grey as I said, my choice car. I am thinking about shooting the sales guy an e-mail offering $25,000 before trade for this car, is that out of line to start out at.

I was thinking about shooting about $22,500 for the used car. I think they should at least take off $2500 for 17000 miles?

Minimum. If it's used then they would definitely. Just haggle a little bit more!

If you're planning to pay $22,500 for that car, start with $21,000 (this is without your trade-in).

After you've decided on the price, then mention the trade-in. Keep in mind that these are two different transactions.

All the best!

You can get a brand new one for that much!

i got my car for 25,700 for a CG/ebony non navi 5AT so 25,000 for the 6mt isnt that far out of line... but id definetly haggle it down lower... i bet you can get 1K off. and if they cant, have em throw in the extra stuff like trunk tray winter mats (which are really nice) wheel locks and the like.

i definetly think you should get it for cheaper. But everywhere i look, i see em for around that price. But i suggest that you negotiate everything sperately. i.e. agree to a trade in value for the car, and then agree to a purchase price for the car. this creates less confusion, and a lower possibility of the dealer ripping you off.

good luck with your purchase! you wont regret it!

Dude, last year I got $3,300 for a 1993 Prelude S (non-VTEC) with 148k miles and major hail damage and a bad rust spot above the right rear wheel. The guy was taken care of but was no where near mint in condition, and it also need new tires (badly I might add). I think you're getting robbed on the trade AND on the price of the used TSX!

Dood .. 25,995 is way too much for a 17k mile USED car .. a brand new 04 if there's one available would probalby be going for low 25,000. 05 are coming out so you should be abe to get the 04 for near invoice. i got mines for 25,000 (tax not included). I'd offer 21k or maybe even 20k ... since 17k miles is like a year's worth of driving .. maybe a year and half.

I agree with the above posts - I purchased a brand new 04 Non-Navi 5AT in May for $25,500. Look around for a better deal. Also, Honda's sell quickly - post and ad in a Sunday paper - you'll make twice as much as a dealer trade.

Forget the Sunday paper (at least that goes for St. Louis) and go straight to Autotrader. List it for a fair price (in both their print-ad flyer/magazines and the website) and I guarantee you'll sell it within two days! Go to KBB, NADA, and Edmunds to determine a fair price. Note, Edmund's number was too low in my case (as I got several hundred more than they said).

They're trying to screw you, tell them to play straight or you're looking elsewhere.

Yeah, I am about to pick up a used silver one with a spoiler and fog lights, 5AT, and 9,000 miles. It's certified pre-owned and has a 7 year-100,000 mile powertrain warranty with it. They had it at $24,995, but I go them down to $23,000 even.

You sohuld definitely talk them down, because that is way too much!!! I go them down to $24,995 for a brand new CG or NHB, my choice, but decided to get the used one.

Thanks for all the info guys, I thought I was getting ripped off. Also found the exact used car across town at Jay Wolfe Acura. I'm going to check it out later today. Again, thanks for all the help.
