I see tonnes of...
'I can't wait for my 06'
'Why the hell is it not here yet?'
'What VIN do you have?'
...threads.
I'm just wondering...since i bought my car near the end of the 05 lifecycle...was there similiar threads like that when the 04 and 05's first hit the shores?

Most of those threads were probably started prior to the '06's reaching the US, or if they are recent, by people who had to order the combo that they wanted. They're just excited and can't wait to get into the seat of their brand new car - weren't you?

I wasn't really excited. A car is a depreciative item to me. Especially because I went from an AMG to TSX and also because i'm financing it monthly. I actually went 6 months without a car before I bought the TSX. I don't even drive that much...got 10K km in 9 months of ownership.

"Can someone track my TSX for me ?"
"Car supposed to be here today, I couldn't sleep all night, but now it's 11 AM, still no car !!!"
"What can I do to get my car in faster without getting people killed ?"

a car is a car. I love my TSX and enjoy it but it's just a car.
There will be others in the future.
I have other things to keep me excited.
I bought out of state and I never called the dealer during the wait phase.
He actually called me like every 2 days to touch base.
and I didn't pick up the car until like 2 or 3 days after it was ready.

It sucks when you a looking for a specific color combo and have to wait 3+ months for your car to arrive. That 3 m-o-n-t-h-s is pure agony .
On the plus side, it is brand new with about 3 miles on it and you can feel satisfied that you didn't sacrifice your color / tranny or nav choice.
I thought I would go through the same thing on the 06, but I called on a Friday and drove the car home the next Tuesday.

I bought the car without even test driving it or even looking at the navi.
I bought it on a saturday and was ready to be picked up the following wednesday..but I told the dealer i rather pick it up on the following saturday.

A lot people want a very specific color combo and since dealers are only allotted so many cars a month, they must wait for them.
I gave the dealer three choices of color combos and he was able to come up with my second choice, which was just fine by me. Thus, my car is actually within the first 100 produced.
