1st gen TSX Service Manual

Hi,

Can you put this link as a sticky please? This is the service manual for our gen. It will be useful for all of us

You just have to click the link and wait it to download. After it is finished, you can save it on your computer.

http://files.clubcivicquebec.com/Man..._TSX_04-08.pdf

If the link doesn't work, please let me know.

Cheers

This is a copyrighted document. It is a very useful document, that is why I suggest that everyone go ahead a pick up a legitimate copy if you are planning on doing any major work on your car.

He's not trying to sell it, so who cares if it's copyrighted?

The law is pretty clear cut on it.

Thanks for posting. As a new Acura owner this has come in handy already. Just replaced my Bluetooth module.

That will come in handy for my TSX. I just so happened to have had a series of repair events stack up and my NAVI has been shot for a year now.

I never understood why the service manual would cost money to purchase, let alone not include it with the vehicle at the time of sale. The mostly worthless owners manual just says that I need to take my car in to the dealership with the maintenance minder goes off. That isn't helpful!

I found the owners manual for the 2006 TSX here...

http://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/p...u/TS0606OM.pdf

It's 366 pages long and seems to have most everything the average car owner would need to know to use and maintain the car. The Maintenance Minder info is on page 266 and has 9 pages of info including the codes and what they mean. So I think it would be exaggerating a bit to say the owners manual is "worthless." :-)

Anyway, as to why they don't include the service manual with every car...

1. Selling service manuals is probably a big money making business for them. :-)

2. You would kill a lot of trees as the service manual is pretty massive. The one I bought for my 2004 TSX many years ago is 8 and 1/2" x 11" and over 2" thick weighing 5 lbs 10oz (I have a scale and weighed it). The 2004-2008 version might be even bigger. To include that with every car would be a massive waste considering 1. Most car owners probably don't even read the owners manual let alone a 6lbs 2500+ page tome. 2. The vast majority of the info in the service manual is info for trained technicians or do-it-yourself types and way beyond useful for the typical car owner.

In any case, you can now get the 2004-06 TSX Service manual for $56.50 from Helm which I don't think is unreasonable for 1900+ pages of info that would save you money since your doing it yourself. I paid around $70 for my 2004 TSX edition back in 2003. However, the 2004-08 service manual (which is the PDF linked to in the original post) is $170.00 which is pretty crazy.
