5-8k max. I'd have to test it to be sure. I don't normally use convetional in my vehicles. If I do it's for a cleaning session with seafoam or something like that. I did however use convetional this go around because I didn't want to blow a motor full of synthetic if I had leaks after this timing chain replacement. So she has conventional in her right now. I'll switch it out sooner than normal just because I don't like running anything but synthetic. A full week and no leaks, so I think i'm safe.

And yes, I hope to be a TSX owner for life. I saw them the first month out and it took 2 years to get the one I wanted. If I have to get rid of her, it's not going to be by choice. I still haven't conviinced my self to enjoy the second gen body style yet. After cruising behind one, it looks like they got fat with saddle bags. Still a beautiful car, but they made it look too much like the 3rd gen TL. I still love'm because they say TSX though.

Conventional, you don't want to go more than 5k MAX with a good Conventional.

Thread revival.....

So for an update... 187,000miles and i'm still rocking my stock spark plugs and getting great gas mileage. Still going long between oil changes.... But the bad news is, I just got the p0341 code to switch out my timing chain again. Bumb deal dude. Oh well, love my TSX so i'll patch her up and keep rollin strong. Also about to switch out My Tein SS coils to the new street basics since I need one rebuilt. So if anyone wants my old set of coils, let me know. One coil needs to be rebuilt. 8 years with this ride and I love it the same as I did the day I bought it. Maybe for our 10 yr anniversary i'll re-up her beats?

Congrats on the high mileage! I just dealt with the timing chain after installing a 45 degree VTC gear and it was quite a pain to get the timing reset and the tensioner reinstalled. Since the timing chain seems to be a recurring issue, have you given any thought to a stronger tensioner like the one Hybrid offers?

The spark plugs were changed at 110k+ miles. Never needed to have the timing chain changed. Car runs excellent. Owned it since new. Great car.

cwinterrowd, thanks for the suggestion. I will try the new chain tensioner, but I think the chain has stretch again as well. First I will install a new tensioner and reset the chain on the cam since I think the rear cam slipped a tooth causing the error code like last time. That's just one of the pieces of TSX maintenance needed right now. The TSX is in need of attention, but the motor swap on my 98 F-150 V8 currently holds the front burner status. Almost done with the swap, then back to Acura tools...
