12V Outlet Amp Rating?

12V Outlet Amp Rating?
After having my fourth flat in less than two years, I am in the process of buying a portable air compressor that runs off the car's 12V lighter/accessory outlet. The compressor I am looking at getting specifies that the amp rating must be at least 15. Does anyone know what the amp rating on the outlet is? The fuse is rated for 15 amps, but I just want to make sure.
I have a 2006 TSX, by the way. Thanks

If I were you, I would get those portable ones that plugs into the battery directly. I have one of those. They are more powerful than the cigar lighter ones.
Those cigar lighter ones suck. Then you don't have to worry about the amp rating or blowing fuses.

The owner's manual states a 120W limit which maps to 10A assuming 12V.
Wattage = Current x Voltage
If I remember, the book also says '10A' in parentheses after the 120W.
Since the alternator adds about 2V, then I'd assume the limit is now slightly less than 10A in reality.
Don't assume the fuse is going to totally protect your circuit.
