'08 TSX - differences?

I had an '04 TSX 6MT and traded it for an '06 RL. Will be returning wife's RSX-S lease in Sept. so we decided to go ahead and order an '08 Milano Red/Parchment 6MT with Nav. Dealer does not have pricing on '08 yet. Anyone know the subtle differences of the'08? Glad to be back.

No one knows anything yet except that the 2G will be 2009. There's also a thread in the RDX section talking about a new color replacing CGP....it will be polished metal. Not sure how true that is, since no one really knows anything yet. I doubt they'd change very much anyway, seeing as how it's the last year before the new model.

oh what da heck? really? i thought it was 2008!! soo, all these rumors about turbo, sh-awd, etc. will too be for the 2009 then right? hmm, if 08 will be like the 07, probably something very minor as maybe an mp3 cd player or a live traffic navi and possibly a back up camera? hmm...

I'm curious to know when the 08 TSX becomes available, because the redesigned TSX is supposed to come out in the spring of 2008.

yah I believe the new color is that pearl tan that they have already relesaed on the euro accords. I too was told by my dealer when buying the 2007 that the '09 model will be the first 2nd Gen.

I wonder what the '08 will have over the '07. TPMS was the only distintion from the 07 to the 06! The 2008 may possibly add on DRL's, real traffic or backup camera. Every honda model now has a back-up camera.

My 2006 TSX has a backup camera

I think it would be silly if they didn't start to offer that with the navi, since they already have the capability installed. That being said, I would not anticipate any changes at all to the '08 TSX, except maybe the yearly $500 price increase.

Last we were told by Acura is that the 08 TSX will be built in August with September arrival since it is coming from Japan. I have the 08 colors for all 08 models right here in front of me. Nothing is changing color-wise. They still haven't told us what changes, if anything at all, will be made to the 08 TSX. As stated above, we do know colors and time frame. The 09 redesign will be here in late spring/summer of 08.

I think you are estimating with that $500. From 06 to 07 they only added the TPMS and the price changed $255.

Cool, and my 04 will be just at the end of its warranty by then too!

Not to mention Fallout 3 will be out in the Fall of 2008.

Ah, cars and video games, my biggest nerd vices!

I've been a driving nothing but Honda/Acura since 1991. Honda really doesn't put a lot of changes in the last model year of a vehicle. You can expect upgrades on technology currently used on other vehicles or offered in other countries (keyless entry, switch blade key fob, tilt side mirrors for reverse, back-up camera, special edition/type-S/A-spec version, maybe Navi upgrades, revised head/tail lights).

I'm expecting a shorter model run for the 08 TSX with minor changes.

I know this is my first post, but I've been looking at getting a new 07 tsx when the 08 models arrive.. I've been emailing a local acura dealership and the internet mgr said they'll be getting the 08 in july. I'm kind of skeptical about that because its a month away and i havent found any info on the changes or announcements. By the way, I got quoted 259-- for a tsx w/o navi and 279-- with navi... the prices include splash guards, floor mats, and 1 oil change. Is this worth it? I'm located in s. cali, LA county. Thanks

Honda is extremely tight-lipped on their product updates, so it's not surprising there's no info out yet.

You should search for the price thread to see what others are paying.

Oh, and welcome

People, 08 TSX's are unchanged. This has pretty much been confirmed by dealers who have already ordered unchanged 08's.

Maybe I should sticky that fact. It comes up way too often.

Sticky that please. Anyone else that says that it is a redesign should get exocommunicated off of acurazine.

I dont want to beat a dead horse, but I did speak with the general manager at my acura dealer when picking up my new 2007 TSX. He did tell me he has heard Acura might be pushing up the 2009 TSX re-design to late 2008 perhaps. Although, dom is correct in that the 2008 is unchanged. Just my $0.02

Relax people, the 2008 is already on Acura's website, it's unchanged. My lease is up June 08, I'm just hoping the 09 will be available by then.

Hi all, first post...I've been sweatin this car for 3 years now, but haven't really been able to afford one quite yet, but am getting there. I've waited this long, so I don't mind waiting until the redesign is out, but am a little hesitant to get the first year model. And I also love the look of the current one, and am tempted to get the '08 model as they're winding down if the '09 car looks busted.

As someone who's fine with his current '98 corolla's acceleration, I'm about 99% sure that the biggest problem with the TSX won't be an issue with me. Would I be nuts to pass up on the '09 or '10 car just because of looks??

Thanks, this forum has been extremely informative

Depends on what the new one looks like and if you like the 1st Gen better. The only way to decide is to wait till the '09 comes out, which I would do if I were you. The '09 might not only look better, but have some nice features on it, too.

I would get the 2nd gen TSX if there is a confirmation of a diesel and at least 230-240hp. But, then again I might either want to upgrade to the next gen TL or G35.

I'd defiantly wait to see the 09 before deciding. At worst you can get a great deal on a leftover 08.

Also my I will never buy another first year build so I'd personally stay far away from an 09. So if there's no way you can wait til '10, IMO you should just get an 07 or 08.

Just my

Not only do first years usually have a few kinks, but they also add some goodies in years 2 and 3.

I would personally wait for a good deal on an 08 TSX when they release the 09 TSX or just get a good deal now on an 07 TSX. Since I too wouldn't buy a first year production on a new car.

And for those that argue against the 04's having kinks and feel its just internet forum bitching, have a look at CR which compares 04 vs 05 and 06's.

While the 04 is reliable, not as reliable as 05+

That's cause the 04 gives you an extra year to break

Any chance for knee-airbags in 08? I know the Lexus IS has this as an option, and interestingly, my left knee was my only injury in my 06TSX wreck that totaled the car. Would be a great add in feature for the 08 if they do it. IIHS safety tests found that a left knee injury was the only likely injury in the TSX frontal offset collision... Guess they were right.
