I have a 2008 black TSX with 80000 miles. It does have a salvage title but is in perfect condition. I've driven it for 12000 miles with no problems, have had it serviced at my local Acura dealer, but I'm not thrilled with it and am going to purchase an is250. I was just wondering what would be a good asking price seeing as how the NADA value is around 11,500?
supply and demand, my friend.
OBVIOUSLY, set it at the highest available price in your zip code according to KBB and NADA values...you can even do edmunds true market value....
This is your homework and not ours.
so, if these websites are spitting out $11500, set it at 11499 and let ppl negotiate.
tho the salvage title will scare off a lot of ppl and you probably wont get anything near $11499...... but thats supply and demand, the power of the free market.

I don't think that KBB or NADA take a salvaged title in to consideration.
That said, it's worth nowhere near their estimate (due to being salvaged). It can be hard to get financing and full coverage insurance on a salvaged title car.
Do you know why it was salvaged? Documentation of the repairs?
What do you not like about the TSX?

My 06 TSX was in an accident and the cost of repair was about +$750 over the cost total the car limit. I was able to work with the USAA insurance adjuster and pay a little more out of pocket to keep a clean title and get the car repaired. You might get close to your asking price if your 08 TSX falls somewhere near that and you have documentation of why it has a salvage title and work performed. No documentation for the reason for salvage or flood damage car, you might be lucky to get over $9,000-$10,000. You might be limited to private sales, folks with cash on hand, you need to let people know it come "as is", folks will come back 3-5 times haggling price, and be willing to take up to +$3,000 off your asking price during negotiations.
I would double-check the state laws on the definition of "rebuilt Salvage title" and the process to getting that type of title. I would make 100% sure the TSX wasn't purchased from another state with weaker salvage title laws and inspections that wouldn't pass your current state law/definition for a salvage title. Some state like Ohio don't allow vehicles with salvage titles to drive on the hwy and other states like Texas require notarized receipts of repair for salvage. I wouldn't want the new owners claiming fraud if the airbag doesn't deploy during an accident down the road.
