It's because they take longer to make them as they are not high-throughput manufactured like Hondas. Even in Australia, a C280 has a waiting list til February last I checked at the dealer in July this year.

I've always seen the C-class and TL as competitors. The C-class is a direct competitor to BMWs 3-series, and most car magazines compare the 3-series with Acura's TL, Cadillac's CTS, and Infiniti's G35. The TL is a much closer match when you think about it.

The TSX has a faster quarter mile time than the C300, I believe. And handling, for sure the TSX has it. The car is more nimble and the suspension are stiffer in the TSX. While the C300 offers a comfortable luxurious ride that lacks handling. Although the C300 does have a better brand, and the interior luxury features are really good if you are willing to pay for it. Lets put it this way. Bone stock TSX > bone stock C300. Fully loaded TSX > bone stock C300. And you can't really compare a fully loaded TSX to a fully loaded C300, because it will cost 43K OTD to get everything the TSX has on the C300. Its just that the features on the C300 are slightly better. Like Moonroof vs Paranormal <(excuse my spelling) moonroof. Uhhh better resolution navi?, and etc... This makes the C300 more luxurious, but lacks performance compare to the TSX. And if the two were compared. The TSX is the better value. You get a car that performs, handles, and more aftermarket parts on the market for cheaper. That also comes with luxurious features. And an extra ~13K for a C300 just for the brand, and slightly improvements of the same luxurious features is stupid.
