07 Passenger Wiper Arm
Hey gang,
Just bought a 07 Black on Black 6MT TSX. My wife and I are super excited about the car!!
One question about the Wipers. Why is the passenger wiper arm crooked when its at rest? The wiper blade tip sticks up a little when your sitting on the inside of the car. Just thought it was strange because the driver side arm is a nice low or hidden profile.
Not really a complaint just an observation...
Still learning all the features of the car. Way better than the 07 Accord EX-L we were looking at.

it's a car-drive it
congratulations and many miles of happy safe motoring. great cars-you will love it- I own a 06 Milano red/ebony 6 spdw/nav since 11/17/06. it has 16,500 miles and my wipers seem to be the same as yours. the wipers on the tsx are not that good. My other complaints-the paint chips easy and so do the foglights. good luck and enjoy

I'm thinking thats the way the designed it. I looked at other TSX pictures on ebay and they all look the same. Its just strange to me. From the outside it doesn't look noticable but when you sit in the passenger seat you see this wiper blade peaking over from behind the dash. Just a strange design.

BTW the wiper on my TL is just like that. I had the same question when it was new, I thought that they were supposed to be hidden, but I can see the right one from the inside =(

mine is like that too. actually one day i checked to see if i had turned off my wipers before they settled, but that seems to be their normal resting position. it is awkward. i can see why ppl get the OEM blade refills since aftermarkets might be longer and go to the edge.

time to get some Bosch Icon's on those wiper arms and ditch the OEM's.

the one good thing is the warranty covers the wipers. i had my driver's side one replaced this weekend. finally. no more streaking or staring at the cracked rubber casing. if i can get it replaced, i'm not going to go out of my way to buy one as long as the warranty is still going.

i definitely understand where you're coming from.. i'm still under warranty but the Bosch Icon's were well worth the money. my friend got a pair because of me as well.

I think it is higher so it doesn't hit the frame. I had the Icons and the passenger side hit and was leaving a mark because it rests lower then the OEM. I returned them and got the OEM refills. I think the OEM should be slightly smaller then it could rest further down, but that would be an odd size wiper.

If you look that this thread, this guy did a 2006 oem wiper conversion and his passenger wiper arm sits an inch below what my 07 does. ??? compare his picture to mine that I pasted a few posts above...

Make a hole, coming thru!
Just for comparison sake, here's my 2006 passenger wiper arm. As you can see, the blade falls just below the top edge of the dithered border, just above the solid one. Doesn't bother me much -- I don't think the wiper arm and blade could go lower without hitting the right windshield gutter.

i'm actually an exterior design engineer for honda, and the wiper system are one of my responsibilities.
the passenger arm is supposed to be bent, for increased coverage as someone said earlier. that dot pattern on the windshield is there solely to "hide" the wipers from the driver's viewpoint. in most cases though it's impossible to totally hide both arms without making the dot pattern overly large.

If my passenger side wiper sat as low as davidspalding's pic shows I would be content. His is below the line of vision if your sitting inside. Mine is a good 1" - 1.5" higher angle and you can easily see it sitting in the car.

The angle of my passenger wiper was like that before and I got an advice from the dealer that it is adjustable. You can adjust your wiper arm to the angle you want. You just to loosen the bolt and adjust it lower. I adjusted mine about 1/2" lower.

Way to go ... now if only you'd posted a pic of the bolt, this would be a DIY thread.
I can see both my wipers through the dotted border. The passenger-side wiper peeks above the dotted border a wee bit. But it doesn't bother me.
FWIW I have no expectation that the wipers are "hideaway" wipers as seen in some really truly mega upscale cars.

I had to do the same thing on our 05, a rock hit the drivers wiper arm and chipped the black paint. So i took off both arms to paint them, when I put them back I lowered the pass arm and raised the drivers arm a touch more than before.
The reason, when the wipers are in motion the drivers arm sorta stops about inch and half from the edge of the windshield from and there's still enough glass that needs to be cleaned as you tend to look right in that direction when making a left hand turn.
So I raised it a bit higher but I'm not completely happy with how it sits when turn off. I wish the wipers rested under the hood like some cars, this would make it easier and cause less wear and tear on the wipers in the winter time.
Othere than that it's easy to adjust the arms just one bolt, and wiggle the arms loose and then just adjust the arm to where you want it.
