06 TSX Insurance

Has anyone looked into insurance for an 06 TSX - what kind of quotes are you getting?

I go through Progressive and they quoted me at $850/6 months for full coverage in Kansas. Keep in mind I'm 24 so my rates are bound to be high even though I've never had even a minor accident. 1 more year till price break.

Where are you located? getting quotes from people all over the country is pointless as insurance rates vary all over the country, and of course depend on may other factors as well.

If you can get quotes from people closer to you, you will have a better idea of what to expect.

I was quoted about $40 a year less for a TSX than for a 2.3L Mazda6. I pointed out that the Mazda was $10,000 less, and the response was that the TSX is classed as a safer car/risk/whatever.

Pointless, but i'd kill for those kind of rates.

But being in the middle of Kansas is going to be a little cheaper than being in Philadelphia

Agreed. I work for one of the largest auto insurance companies, and have for over 7 years. There are WAY too many factors to consider when determining rates. Rates vary widely from state to state (and are zip code dependent within your state). Other major factors include: age, driving record, credit score (almost all insurance companies now use your credit as a rating factor), coverage level, and of course the vehicle.

Sorry, but this thread is pointless. For the author of this thread, I would recommend calling around and obtaining quotes from several companies using your specific information. That's the only way you are going to know if you are getting a good deal, as you cannot compare your rates to anyone in a different state/city/age/driving record/credit bracket.

Talking

In Saskatchewan, with no discount for safe driving, it's CDN$1411.00/yr

With my discount for no negative marks on my record for the past 5 years it's CDN$1276.00/yr

Booyah!

i was quoted $900 / 6 months in well not the greatest area in los angeles for a 05 tsx with nav.

i'm 24 though, but that is including a 15% discount for having a computer science degree (i don't even understand why i get that, but well i'll take it). insurance company is mercury and this is well dirt cheap insurance for this area.

oddly though, insuring my car is $25 more per 6 months than my previous car which was an 05 g35 coupe.

In Des Moines, IA, my '04 6mt non-nav is $950/yr. I am 38, though, and have two speeding tickets (got them both the first month in my TSX -- coming from a Dodge pickup, I had no sense for how fast I was going). When my tickets are three yrs old, it will drop to about $750/yr. I'm with Chubb, they also carry my wife's SUV and our house and boat, so we get a package discount.

Yeah, funny thing is this. I was all proud that the TSX has dual air bags, ABS, etc. and was thinking that the rate would go down. But my agent told me that these features actually bump up the insurance premium!

the car is safe, but for that safety, you pay. with 8 airbags, chances are 1 or 2 will go off an an accident, so that means more money to repair the car when you do get into an accident.

lol i am being shafted.
geico wants $2,300 / 6 months ($4,500+ / yr) because i got two speeding tickets in the last couple years and a ticket for tints and "loud" music... that's ridiculous..

so when i get my '06 the insurance is going on my parents name.

.
Insurance companies really hate those loud music violations. That's why I wear headphones in the car!!

i always thought you'd have to have them buy the car as well though.

geico isnt really cheap anyway... try progressive , or mercury. they always seem to be the cheapest. that and uh stop getting tickets.
