If nothing shows up I'll post some of mine next week after I pick it up. I've already visited it, so I can tell you they've darkened the plood considerably.
They also seem to have wanted to get away from the burlwood look, with those random swirly accents, and more toward a grained look. Unfortunately, they oriented the "grain" up-and-down, so the plood looks tiger-striped. I doubt people will like it any better than the old plood.

Summer is Coming
I took some pics of the new plood but they are not very good. They were taken at night.... in the rain... through the car window. If you want I'll try to post them but like I said, they are not that great. The new plood I'd say is a slight improvement over the old plood... but it is still plood.

I think Acura was trying for a "Classic Rosewood" look like this; it's pretty close:
It's not bad; I don't mean to imply it's not an improvement over the petrified pudding plood of the past. (By the way, how long has Parchment w/plood been available anyway? Has it always been like the '05's?)
And since I stole their pic, does anyone have any experience with genuine wood dask kits like from these guys?

I test drove a 2006 6-spd yesterday at my dealer (mine comes in a few weeks but my dealer was nice enough to call when he got one in), and they had 2 White/Parchments being prepped as loaner cars. Can you believe it? Their first batch of 2006's and they take two of them for loaners?
Anyway, the Parchment with the new fake wood trim looks great. Very classy and I think the closest any manufacturer has come to the real thing. Sorry I didn't have a camera on me or I would have taken pics for you.

I guess I sholdn't be surprised that the first 2006 become loaners. I think their hope is that, as the loaners get used, the owners see what a great car it is and decide to trade their older Acura.

That pic of the 06's plood actually look like it's mimicking the RL's curly maple. Anyway, it nevertheless is an improvement over the previous plood.

Better pics of Plood
Here are some better pics of the 06 Plood. It does look much better then the older style, much more convincing... but you can still tell it is plastic. I think after looking at it for awhile it is one of the better ploods I've seen.
And a bonus pic of the Deep Green Pearl. It still had the coating on it from the transport truck, but the lower half of the car was clean. Not a bad green color, but not my taste.

I love the way the black parts of the dash offset the parchment bits. To me the plood looks really sharp, at least in these pictures. Maybe it's just because I'm too used to my quartz interior.

Parchment interior with black floormats
FYI,
Still Water put black floormats in his TSX with partchment interior and it looks really good.
Here is a link to that thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23842
Check out his pics in post no. 15.

For side-by-side comparison purposes.
2006
2004-05
Note that the pics were taken under different ambient lighting conditions and, most likely, with different exposures. Hard to get a good compro without actually being there in person and looking at them side-by-side.

Here's another side-by-side
'06 looks ever-so-slightly better, but to me, the slight improvement in wood doesn't balance out the color change of the '05-on steering wheel buttons. I love my silver buttons, had the plasticky-looking black. Those new silver stereo knobs are hot though. The integrated XM ('05+), Bluetooth, and power passenger seat (05)/memory seat make me drool, but the new wheels and front end (and black steering wheel buttons) relieve my jealousy. Think I'll stay where I'm at with the '04. That extra plood trim is hot, though, I might like it to go with my shiftknob.
BTW, I've been in my Mom's '04 Accord, and test driving '06 Accord coupes with my Dad a lot lately, and I love the TSX interior so much more than that weird, swoopy, droopy-triangle superhero shield looking point of the Accord interior...bleck!

belive it or not i love the accord interior; but u knwo what i hate about it most?
the fact that there was no cover over the cup holders. Its stupid/weird i knwo beacuse I always have the cover on my cup holders open. but for somet reason it kinda cheapened the iterior to me.
and though i could live with them, the guages aren't as nice as the tsx's obviously

I just can't deal with it. When I look at that center stack, it looks to me like something Superman would wear on his chest. And yeah, I forgot about the no-cover-on-the-cupholders bit. Also, I find the wood trim to be uglier than the TSX's, it's got kinda a weird greenish tinge to it, like mossy or something. But I am ticked that my Mom's $23.5k Accord came with 1. Xm and 2. wood on all four door panels (on the window switch plate), when those features were not available/optional on my $30k '04 TSX.
Oh well, the HIDs, homelink, 40 MORE HP, 17" wheels, smaller dimensions, etc etc etc make up for it

^^ Let me guess, you write porn spam for a living.
I can see slight color difference in the above pics. Nice. I agree, it looks a bit better than my 04 orange tinted plood. But, the pattern on my 04 looks better IMHO.

I think I agree. I was glad to see the darker color when I first got in mine, but a little disappointed they went to a grain effect instead of trying to get the burl effect right. But hey, mainly I'm just lovin' this car...
