Summer is Coming
I had read over in the TL area that it is possible but didn't find any details until this guy tried it. And like he said it will only work on the newer 06 TSX and I thinnk 07 TL (which got the TSX navi). Now I wonder who will be the first to try it on Acruazine??

Let me help you!
Seems easy enough, but I don't think I want to attempt this unless I can see the wiring schematics (lol, my electrical engineering skills are wary of just blindly following directions). I think that wire he added for auto-switching would be better done near the navi unit, unless you're planning to put the dvd player in the trunk...

Does anyone know how you would connect the audio to the dvd player or do you have to run an rca from the back to the front where the head unit is and get a auxiliary input converter or is there a easier way of doing it.

A few questions;
Is this the way it's suppose to tape up?
![](http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/4649/dsc00761ii1.th.jpg)
And also here:
Does that mean the 12V+ coming out of the DVD player will cause the screen on the navi to jump to the homemade composite harness? If so, how would the back up camera work? Is it possible to have both dvd and backup camera?
One last thing, from the back of the navi system, it looks like the navi screen is just a screen and all the information goes back to the navi dvd unit. Is it possible to unplug that wire and add a y-split, with one going to the navi unit, and one going to the dvd player and add a switch to it?

13. i read that alot of members are using the Myron & Davis AD212 dvd player in their cars. in the back of the AD212, there is a blue wire at the power plug that gives a 12v+ when the player is on. which means you can just connect that blue wire to the wire that was added earlier and the navi screen will automatically switch over when the dvd player is on and switch back to the navi screen when the player is off.

There is a post where someone added a module to an 04/05 in order to tap the unused aux input. But since the 06 comes with the aux input already, you'd have to get an RCA y-splitter in order to plug both aux devices in at once. Since you should only hear from one source at a time, why not take the extra time to unplug the dvd one and plug the other back in (or vice versa)?

Don't get me wrong... that's great that someone figured out how to do it. Even though these directions are quite easy to follow, I can't help but think it's just so much easier to use Dom's unit... I think my time is worth something. Dom's unit (not the DVD player up front) only took about 10-15 minutes...

yes, you can unplug that wire and add a switch if it's easier for you.

Like that piece you plug into the back of the dvd. I would have no problem installing it. I just don't know if i could fabricate all the pieces that you did.

^^ yes, that's what the 12v is for... when it gets 12v it will switch to that video input.. when the 12v is gone it switches back to regular input... (navi)
i'm thinking maybe it would be nicer to have it on a switch... that way the DVD player can stay on if you want to switch back to navi for a bit, and then back to the dvd player again... instead of turning the DVD player on/off etc...
