06 Fog lights

Hey everyone,

I'm getting ready to buy a new 06 TSX AT W/ NAVI in a couple days. I was curious to know if anyone knew if the foglights can be turned on/off or if they come on no matter what when you turn your HIDS on? THANKS, JOSH

You can turn the fogs on and off(switch on the headlamp lever), they don't come on automatically when you turn on you HIDs.

Only downside to the fogs is they can only be on when the headlights are.

Nope... the foglights will be on only if the HID is on. Not while when you switch on the parking lights.

Finally someone decides to get that color combo! That's the same combo I will be getting in a couple of months.

Did you pick your car up today after all?

No I pick it up today because those fucking bastards at the bank wouldn't approve me till today...oh well can't complain because im still getting the car. Im a little pissed though because they put that protection pkg on and I didnt know it so I bitched at the sales manager and they took it off. Why do they put that shit on anyways? Even though im not paying retail I still think it's a waste of money. IMO I think mud guards make you look like your in your late 50's...

Maybe so, but I would expect that Acura just uses the line powering the HIDs to also feed power to the relay that allows the fog to be turned on. If so, just locate that relay and rewire it to power it anytime the ignition is on -- that way the fog switch in the cabin works without the HIDs on.

Mud Guards only belong on one type of vehicle: SUVs.

they have no place on our car, and they really don't even do anything.

i hate them. so ugly.

so did they give you the protection package for free, or literally just took everything out of the car (all seasons? wheel locks? mud guards?)

I like mine and think that they look okay and they will keep my TSX cleaner and more stone chip free. ( I have them on my SUV as well)

personally i would much rather have the guards than have the sides of my car all chipped up. besides so many cars have them its almost commonplace. and another reason i like the black TSX they blend in perfectly.
my friend went to 3M school and has a whole roll of clearbra and i think we are gonna line the whole side skirts with it as well as the entire front bumper and 18 " of the hood

in all the cars i've had, i've never had all these chips/scratches that mud guards are supposedly preventing. i fully understand the tires kick up rocks, but even living in pennsylvania with huge rock salt on the road all winter, i just don't think it's that big of an issue. mud guards, if you don't mind how they look, are a nice and cheap way to keep the car clean, and i guess they prevent some minor scratching, but i just don't like them on a car. look fine on an SUV though.
