'05 Conversion - Heated mirror and BEEP

Now that the 2005, has anyone looked into fitting the heated mirrors and remote BEEP onto our 2004's??

What do you mean "remote beep"? Hit the remote button twice, and the car will honk before arming.

05's have a mild beep when the lock botton on the remote is pushed, similar to the beep that the old Alpine Alarms would make.

I hate the horn sound, sounds like a cheap, piece of junk. Much rather have the beep. I think the horn sound is the only think I DISLIKE about this car

But the horn only sounds if you press the lock button twice, right? If once then the lights flash and no sound.

I have an aftermarket alarm so I don't get the horn sound.

Right, but I always push it twice just to confirm. I like hearing some kind of noise making sure the alarm is armed and none of the doors are open or something along those lines. I'd much rather hear a beep than the horn. call me crazy, but it is a sign of higher quality to me.

The alarm arms after 30 sec when you push it once. You dont need to push it twice if it bothers you that much.

I agree that you don't have to honk the horn when you set the alarm, but back to the subject - what makes it beep? would it be hard to install that part on a 04?

I would be interested as well. I agree you can just push it once, but a beep does seem to be a more upscale noise if you just have to press the button twice.

You can alway get an aftermarket alarm and get the remote windows up feature installed.

Plus the beeping noise, plus remote start, plus temp sensative remote start, and also timed remote start.

Tell you guys what.. when i get my 05, (tommorow), i will buy a viper alarm, so i can set it to warm up the car 15 minutes before my work is over @ 0730 in the
AM.

Then i will sell the OEM beeping horn I will even give you a deal 5% over invoice It will prolly only run you 150 bucks..

Dont have the money to spend an aftermarket alarm right now...would love a Beep rather then a honk
Kinda find the honk annoying...and I like to hear somekind of noise to conform the car locking...So if anyone can figure a cheep easy way to do this...sweet...otherwise ill just wait untill i win the Lottery and go for the Viper w/ autostart

My personal opinion: Be careful about installing after market alarms. I had one installed in my Honda Accord a while back. It was a viper alarm installed by Circuit City. The electric system on the car was never the same and it would do all sorts of strange stuff (i.e., when I opened the trunk, the domelight would go on). I don't let anybody touch my cars electric system but the dealer, for this reason.

No offence, but i dont believe the quality of technitions at Circuit city are up to par. I had my viper installed in 97, and to this day it rocks. I had mine installed at a stereo / security specialty store. I never regreted getting it installed. Matter of fact, my car did not have power door locks stock, but they were able to put motors in so i could use the remote to unlock the door.

The only thing about getting aftermarket with a tsx is the transponder key. you either have to plant a transponder key, or get a bypass module, so you can remote start the car.

The one bad thing about the acura dealer is the fact they charge outwardly exorbinant rates. I also dont believe that the quality of their service is that much better than some of the cheaper places. I think they just put a false hope into people because of the simple fact they Have an acura sign outside their door.

who cares about the beep sounding upscale? how much more materialistic reason can you state? i agree that literally the ONE thing i hate about the car (and i love everything else) is that horn chirp. it literally makes my heart jump when i arm it and let it beep because its SO loud and abrupt. i will do just about anything for some sort of quieter noise. i often leave the car in busy loud areas or lock it as im walking away and unless you have sonic hearing, you cant always hear the locks or feel like turning around to see if the lights are blinking.

btw, just joking about the insult above , but it is a pretty dumb reason to want a beeping confirmation

I thought the original thread was to get information about the possibility of fitting heated mirrors and/or the alarm arming beep onto '04's, and not debating whether you want it or not...

Anyway, back to post one..... any info???

No offence! So, you shared some information and a different perspective here and you think I'll be offended?

No offence taken! I do think you have to proceed real carefully about this kind of thing though. And, yeah, I agree with you about Acura dealers.

Mirrors cant be too difficult, New mirrors, switch . and wire it up.

Not sure bout the beep. Might take a whole new alarm module.

Has anyone seen '05 parts diagrams yet? I think that would have most of the info we'll need, at least for the heated mirrors...
