04 TSX - Should I buy?
Hey everyone,
I'm looking at a 2004 TSX with 75K miles on it priced ~$12K. Everything looks pretty good on the car but I'm wondering if there's anything in particular I should look for or any problem areas I should be aware of before purchasing the car. I've never owned an Acura or Honda but have heard rave reviews on quality etc. and this TSX seems to be really nice.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I bought mine July 4th 2008 with NAV and automatic with 79K for $12,500. That was a smokin deal then. I think you should ask lower.
The 2006 model gains bluetooth and heated mirrors. I really want bluetooth!
I have 99k on the car now if that tells you how much fun it is to drive. I have found that the "right" tires make the TSX a love it or hate it ride. It currently has Cooper CS4 Touring tires which are fantastic. The stock Michelins not so good in my opinion and it was very fatiguing to drive and ride in.
As with any forum you will have purists that tell you to stay away from the "first model year syndrome". If you are nervous you can get a 3rd party aftermarket warranty. My warranty is from Zurich.
If you like the color combination then get it. Change all the fluids ASAP and you should be golden.

There were some issues with the 04 that they fixed in the 05 - some of the 04 owners could fill you in. Odds are at 79K maybe all of that was addressed by the previous owner. But from what I've read, I would not consider any of the issues to be major. I think the 05 also picked up heated seats and heated mirrors over the 04. But if you can find an 05 in your price range, most folks will stear you to that year.
Anyway its still an Acura, and will still out perform most other makers in terms of quality. I think you could do better on the price. Something that starts with $11,XXX would be more appropriate.

^ 04s have heated seats, but not mirrors.
