I just looked up the part number for the TSX and it only is used in the TSX, more than likely because of the mount and not the internals. So if you do try to get a different box, you are running the risk that potentially cables and mounts would be different.

Aside from what betep, it is unclear that our plugs fit another model's inputs. I think I would still go the route of betep.

It's just cheaper to send it in. I hope they'll fix mine.
Local junk yard told me $900 for 1 and ebay prices go for 300+

if you read this:

carefully enough - You'll see where it says that.

Sounds fabulous!!! Then why is it that when people bring in their cars to the dealer and tell them the navi is broken, (Read CD error, etc), the dealer insists on buying a new replacement at the factory cost of $2000-3000 ?!?!?

technically, they should be sending it to Alpine for repair.

The NAV part number(for tsx is 39540-SEC-A01, which cost $3000, there is another number: 39540-SEC-A01RM that cost ~$320 - it's a femanufactured, BUT dealer can order it ONLY if it's a warranty repair, that's stupid Honda Of America policy.

I just wanna show my appreciation for the information shared on this thread. I was able to send in my unit (2005 RL) and for $158 and a week of my time they completely gutted and replaced the inside with brand new parts. Alpine outdid themselves and even shipped it back 2nd day UPS, what a company!

Where did you look it up? I have a 2005 that someone broke in and stole it out of. I've found a large Junk-yard database that has the cheapest used unit for $250, but it is from a 2004. I also know they added XM radio in 2005. Trying to find out if the DVD/Navi unit in the trunk is compatible across all first generation models (04-08)?

Oh and the site is: car-part.com, just don't buy the cheapest navi-unit until I do...haha

Well, that's just a sign of a bad dealer. At my dealership we never recommend new radios unless a reman isn't available. In fact, warranty replacement requires a reman radio if one is available. The difference? New can be $2000 and reman can be $100-$300.

The 2007 Honda Accord part is: 39540-SDA-A51 and my 2005 TL is: 39540-SEP-406. I'm sure I'm just pushing my luck but is there a way to make it work?

The problem isn't that it won't work electronically (although the plugs and everything are probably different) but that the frame, mounts and size aren't right. It just won't mount in your dash. Different shape.

Cool 09 TSX Navi just went

All of a sudden my 09 TSX 48K car, Navi blew out. Took it to my dealer that I bought 150K worth of Acura's - Acura of Orange Park owned by Jack Hananiah and the service center would do a friken thing. What a loser of a company.

My year everything on the big screen doesn't work and I have to stare at a big white screen stating Please check disk...

The service manager "idiot" said uhhhh, maybe its the disk? He ejected it and its flawless. Which by the way its the 3rd updates one that yes... I bought.

So I'll try Alpine tomorrow and see what happens. I'll update the post. Hopefully any friends with 09 or later will know what to do.
