04 Accord v. 04 TSX

I'm sure this has been brought up before. But I want some advise, and from what I read here you guys seem knowledgable and more importantly FAIR.

The Accord, fully load is nice. It does have a V6 which nice and a softer suspension. It has stock XM which is a definite mode for me as I am and addict and have them in all 3 of my other cars. The XM antenna is nice looking from the factory, something I can't alway say about the after market. However, they are a dime a dozen.

The TSX is a beaut. Interior blows accord away and to be fair to does the appearance. It seems to handle a bit better, but has reported history (from what I've seen here) of strange rattles. It is in its first year production, and there is not a dealer in my city. I like somethink a bit unique and this fits the bill for me.

I have test driven both and either would make me happy.

Thoughts?

its your preference. do u want straight line speed or nimble handling?
IMO, the tsx's interior does not blow away the accord. its kinda a tie to me. both elegant and pleasing to the eye.
its true about the rattles. but i'm sure Honda has fixed it by now.
about your dealer situation, i think u can take the tsx to the honda dealership for easy fixes or an oil change. just another accord, isn't it?

I think the rattles issue is disproportionally represented in this forum. Forums, by their very nature, will attract enthusiasts which are very discerning and also people looking for resolutions to some of their problems. There are maybe 400 active users on this forum, out of 18k US and 3k Canadian owners. These 400 are not a representative sample of the entire population. There are entire threads discussing this very issue.

Back to your other issues, I think the decision may come down to whether you can get reasonable service for the TSX locally and if the handling, interior and uniqueness outweigh the less power, less space and firm ride issues for you. Acura offers an XM dealer installed head unit, but I"m not sure how good it is. You can't really go wrong either way.

Interesting that both cars made C&D 10best.

I too had to decide between the V6 EX Accord and the TSX. Other than the obvious reasons already mentioned, I like having a car that is not seen everywhere you turn. Not to mention, I already had a '94 and a '98 Accord in the family.
