Question [Question] K242A Longevity, car miles?

Whats up, I bought my car with 100k miles and I'm currently at 110k. It's basically my daily commute to college. I've been wondering how ever how long have you fellow owners have your car with mileage and if anyone knows how long on average these cars last. The previous owner got into a car accident I believe due to the fact that there's a new bumper and when I went to a mechanic and lot of things were bought OEM in the engine bay, the only thing out of pocket I've changed is the engine belt and engine mounts! I also got sears to check it and everything else was fine, I've changed rotors and the driver power window.

I drive like a granny cruising at 40 in city and 75 on the highway, I don't use the manual mode thing ( fear of wearing down the tranny).

Thank you

Having the full maint history and sticking with the maint schedule is an excellent way to ensure longevity with Honda/Acura vehicles. I handed down my 06 TSX to my son in his sophomore year in H.S. with 110,000 miles and he is now a sophomore in college with 140,000 miles on the ODO. We had to replace the alternator, 3rd battery, and power steering pump (used pump on Ebay for $100) during that time. I'm expecting him to drive until after graduation and into his first job +4 years down the road. He absolutely love this car because it is the perfect size, plenty of power, look sporty, cheap to operate, very nice tech for its age, and better than a bike or walking compared to other college students.

I have +140,000 miles on my 08 RDX and almost 100,000 miles on my 11 MDX also. Routine maint can get you +200,000 miles with minor issues like alternator, starter, battery, power steering, or suspension components along the way.

My 2004 was running strong at 225,000 when it was T-boned and totaled this past spring. I had no major mechanical failures, though I had to replace that alternator at 200K and there were some issues with the head unit PCB. Keep up with scheduled maintenance and drive the car sensibly and it will run to 300K or more.

Sorry to hear you got totaled, however, 225k miles is a good milestone

i am on my 4th 2004-2008 acura tsx... all ran good, no major problems! these things are built solid... similar to the 2004-2008 TLs in my opinion
