I recently bought a 2018 TLX and have found this community immensely helpful in learning what I can upgrade with my new daily commuter. I thought i’d share what I’ve done so far.
This was the first day I had her. 2018 V6 SH-AWD with Technology package
The first addition was adding tint and and adding the side skirts. I also purchased the A-spec spoiler and installed that shortly after
I put in an order for some Vossen VSF1 in matte grey a few weeks after I bought and just had them installed this week, really changes the look and feel of the car.
Here is a shot of the a-spec trunk spoiler
I also added the RSR coil overs to get a firmer ride and lower the car
Here is the vossen wheel when unboxed at the shop
The figment was perfect, very flush
Also grabbed these on eBay, needed to do some drilling but the included rivers worked well
Looking good man, I miss seeing stuff like this on the forum. When the new generation of Acuras came out I don’t feel like people mod them as much as they did the TL and other older Acuras. So this is great! Also love the color!

i think one to the reasons why is there isn’t as much aftermarket parts available yet. After another few more years if there is enough demand more products might be produced and once there is a surplus of second hand TLXs in the market.

agreed, it’s difficult to find many aftermarket products at the moment. Right now looking for turbo or supercharger kit but none seem to exist. Some seemingly basic upgrades like BBKs are fairly hard to find too. Rotora and R1 concepts have incomplete solutions as you lose your ebrake.

thanks! Yeah trying to keep to a grey/black color scheme, may decide to pop in some color with yellow calipers in the future

Yes makes sense, as the TLX ages it will be more accessible to younger enthusiasts with money to burn who will buy a bunch of add ons making it worthwhile for a company to make products for the car.

I like the idea of popping in some color (otherwise starts to look too dark), yellow looks good but I also think going with something more complimentary would work out better (like Silver or Medium Blue) with the overall color scheme.

Great idea with going more complimentary colors. A silver caliper would look really nice
Are these sold by hpt.ua out of the Ukraine claiming to be OEM? How is the quality? I was looking at Ultimate Pedals @ $129 (rubber grips extra).
yeah, very same one! I got it for $108. The quality is seems really good and packaging was all labeled Honda with japanese instructions, so I figure it’s legit.
Huge upgrade. Don't like those stock chrome strips at all. Good choice!
appreciate it, yeah hated those that came with it originally. I still think though that Acura could do better than having these tacked on body parts. Needs something more integrated that makes these accessories part of the existing body panel
Haven’t done much to the car last couple months but did recently add real carbon fiber covered mirror caps from Yamato CF in Canada. I thought this added a bit of contrast to breakup the monotone color scheme.
The next big addition, which i’m really excited about, is a full SQ audio build i’m preparing to have done to replace the ELS sound system. Looking to really improve the audio experience with full sound deadening added (doors, floor, trunk, etc) and improved components. The plan includes upgrading all 10 speakers with Focal ES 165kx3 components, adding two 10” Audiomobile evo 2410 subwoofers all powered by 3 JL amps and managed by an Alpine DSP. Also getting a stealth build in the trunk space to make it all pretty. All supplies came in the other day
The build included stripping down the interior to place sound deadening materials throughout (except the roof). Once done installed the Focal speakers. Then custom trunk subwoofer enclosure with custom amp rack and trim.
Here are the stripped doors with interior panels removed
Here is the door with vapor barrier, speakers and interior panel removed
Here is a shot of the stripped interior. Front seats were on the side
Here the existing vapor barrier is used to outline the shape for the deadening material to be placed on the doors
The speakers were installed so that they can be easily removed later for servicing or easy replacement
Here is the front door after all the deadening material is applied and the speakers attached. The deadening material was added to both inside the door and on-top as seen here.
So these bad boys finally arrived in the other day!!! I’ve been waiting weeks for manufacturing to complete. Getting them installed in a few weeks along with new rear controls arms. This BBK kit are 6 piston fronts with 380mm cross-drilled discs and and 4 piston rears on 350mm disc. The significant development with this is that our rear electronic brake is retained with their proprietary electronic rear module. I’ll post the pics once installed to show them 6 piston with 380mm front disc
So today was the day I finally got the BBK installed. I think it turned out great. Pedal feel is much improved and looks great. It was getting dark so wasn’t able to get a good shot of the whole car so i’ll take better shots this weekend. Front caliper Rear caliper Here you can see the electronic module for the e-brake Pieces of the rear module Finally with wheels on the front (380mm discs)
I wasn’t too happy with the stock steering wheel so I had this custom made by Yomato CF out of Canada. They normally make carbon fiber steering wheels but I wanted something more subtle so had this modeled after a AMG C63 steering wheel. Can’t wait to get them in the car!

I went on their website to poke around and saw the sticker price. $1800 . It looks pretty damn good though.
Clean ride man. Forgive me for sounding stalker-ish, but I think I've seen your ride around the Bay Area. Was thinking "think I've seen that car on Acurazine".
