Smile Wheel Size for 1998 2.5 TL

Hello ALL,

I want to put 16's or 17's on my 1998 2.5 TL.

I would appreciate it if you guys can answer the following questions. Please bear in mind that I am new to cars.

1. What will be the offset I will have to use for 16's or 17's so that the wheels dont go past the fender and there is no rub?

2. What should be the width of the rims? 7 or 7.5?

3. How many lug holes will the rims need? 4 or 5?

4. Will 99 - 02 TL wheels fit my 1998 2.5 TL?

If any one with 2.5 TLs and 16 or 17's please share your experience...

Thanks a Lot!!!

1. Offset depends on wheel width not diameter.

2. No clue wait for someone elses reply.

3. You have a 2.5 so you have a lug pattern of 4x114.3, So 4 holes

4. No, they won't fit on a 2.5TL but they will fit on a 3.2TL

Thumbs up

Ok , regarding the offset questions I asked...

If I were to pick a 16 x 7 what would be the offset requirement so that the wheel wont stick outside of the fender?

And what would it be for 17 x 7 wheels?

Thanks a lot!

my suggestion would be to look online for a wheel offset calculator.

Also, i have 17" "mesh" rims on my 96 2.5 TL. I have 215/45/17 tires on them right now...so whats 215mm converted into inches? That might help you.

i am a bit confused now though, how would i calculate offset based on a tire size? Aren't we talking about wheels here?

Thanks,

Question what years 4 lug?

What years of 2.5TL's had 16" alloys in 4X114.3mm bolt pattern?

^ All that went out and bought aftermarket rims. hehe. The 2.5s only came from the factory with 15"s.

~Cheers~
