Stock wheels

I have a 1996 3.2 TL with stock 15" wheels. I'm looking to replace my tires in the next few months. While I'm at it, I'd like to replace the wheels. While I'd like to get new wheels, I'm a bit short on $$$.

Would 17" Type-S wheels from later generation TL's fit properly? If so, which ones?

Or would I be able to get into some decent new wheels for about what I'd pay for used stock wheels? I'm trying not to sink too much money into the the car while I save for a much newer one.

Thanks in advance.

If your stock wheels are in good shape, you'll want to keep them since they're worth a bit to someone in the market wanting to replace them. Thats what I did with my stock wheels and stock stereo.

It also helps when you plan on selling the car in the future.

But yeah.. the Type S wheels are a perfect fit, you'll still get a smooth ride while improving handling by quite a bit.

Also, keeping your stock wheels, and having a new set at the same time can give you summer/winter wheels, too bad I can't afford that either
