Springs & Shocks basic question

Hey folks,

I have searched here and googled and failed to find answer to a very basic question. My 97 3.2 is sagging in the rear and bottoms out easily on bumps and potholes. What do I need to replace: shocks (or struts) and/or springs? I have tried to find out more on the specifics of what each does but not enough to know what I need to replace. FYI, the car is at 245k km (or ~153k miles) and is on the stock setup, AFAIK. It's probably time for both front and back suspension to be replaced.

I saw on the other threads that my car uses 94-97 Accord struts. Can I reuse my current springs or does that depend on their sag? I am not looking to drop or mod, though it currently looks dropped. I just want functional (near) stock suspension. I don't mind if someone recommends a stiffer setup for performance, but price will have to be near stock as financial priorities lean towards kids piano lessons rather than performance auto parts.

Straight answer or links to good sites will be much appreciated.

Stock is MUCH more expensive than aftermarket, BTW. What you could do, is get the shocks from tmnhs81, which are brand new, and either re-use your springs or get new stiffer ones from him as well.

~Cheers~

Ok. Winter is over and so I gotta tend to my suspension. I see that KYB now makes shocks/struts for my 97 3.2TL:

The problem is that I am still unclear if I need to replace just the struts or the springs as well. As per my OP, the rear sags and more importantly feels like it bottoms out easily. Small ruts and seams on the road feel harsh. And as of lately, I get fender rub if car meets a dip at speed. My car does not bounce around (which would mean I just needed new struts or shock absorbers).

Can anyone help?

Is your car bouncing every time you hit a bump?

No, it just feels hard as if it's bottoming out easily.
