Axle?

Recently when I drive my car and mostly when I go over speed bumps my drivers side feels kind of like it "pops". A feeling sort of like running over something. I've seen on this forum that you guys say the drivers side axle goes out typically on our cars (2.5TL) so I'm thinking that may be it. That "popping" feeling worries me.

Also, (I have no idea if these are related in anyway) when I switch into drive or reverse from park or reverse to drive (vice versa) my car makes a lot noise like metal hitting metal and the car kind of moves. This also worries me. And just to add, lately as well my car has been shaking worse than ever at idle. The RPM stays under 1 but the car shakes quite a bit.

Any help with this would be very much appreciated. Hope its nothing too serious.

The axles have never been replaced, and the left and right motor mounts are worn.

That would do it. Are all the fluid levels fine?

When I checked recently they were. Is there one I should be looking out for? The only flush, or drain and fill, I've had is the tranny.

Do the differential drain and fill.

I forgot to add that one, sorry. Had that done a few moths ago.

check your axles, turn your wheel all the way, stick your hand behind the rim, and feel the cv boot, if its torn-than you need a new axle, that might be the problem...
